Nhl23 AI

Why do you guys give the AI in All-Star and Superstar difficulty unrealistic stats? Like you give players stats in HUT for a reason, but the second I want a competitive game in offline squad battles I get shafted? Why is their AI so perfect in every aspect no matter on their rating? Like I’m talking 81 overall players with 82 speed out skating my 89 overall with 91 speed and acceleration? They also always score cross creases, and never miss passes. They skate into my guy, instantly takes the puck. My guy skates into them, hits them, and still can’t get the puck. Like none of this is fun. Challenging? Yes but In the wrong way. I want a fair challenge, not a challenge where I clearly have a massive disadvantage. If I have a HUT team with players rated higher than the other team I should see the difference. Especially when there is almost a 10 speed and acceleration gap between my player and theirs and they are still faster than me? That’s whack man, I didn’t spend time in your game to complete challenges and get these good cards just for their stats not to matter at all in some modes. You don’t understand how infuriating it is to have a break away with Eberle and have some whack OHL defensmen you never heard of catch you and poke check the puck away from behind you. FIX THIS PLEASE.

    Hey there, @SNIDES

Can you get some video showing slower players outskating faster ones? It'll be reviewed for any issues.

As far as the difficulty goes, the player ratings don't change. The AI players react faster on higher difficulties though. This can make them very challenging on All-Star and Superstar, but that's intended. Getting to know how the AI plays will help. For one, if you like to play a hitting-heavy game, try to play less aggressive. They are excellent about finding open lanes for shots and passes. Cutting off those options will make a big difference. I like to use the contain puck strategy for this reason. I'll only go for hits if I know I have teammates behind me to back me up because that player is now taken out of the play. The computer can be deadly when they have numbers. So, if they get set up in your zone and start cycling the puck, don't chase the carrier. Try to cut off their options and they'll eventually turn it over or go for a shot that your goalie can cover and force a stoppage.
