Has anyone else found that the game that's released in October becomes far different from the one that we end up with in April? I find as the game play updates and patches come out, the game play changes a fair bit. Example being, when I first purchased the game and started playing I noticed the skating was a lot smoother, I could almost stop and turn on a dime sorta say. The passing looked more realistic, you could do these quick short passes and not these long extended, over exaggerated passes like we've seen in previous games. Even the hitting seemed to be improved over last years game. Now after a few game play updates and patches I'm noticing my skating abilities look more and more like last year's game where if I want to turn to dodge an fore checking player it's almost like I'm trying to steer an ocean liner past an iceberg. Passing has gone back to those long extended stiff arm passes and body checking only seems to work if you hulk up like Tory Krug and skate the length of the entire ice only to send your opponent sliding down the ice in unrealistic fashion. Aside from the lacking presentation, missing jerseys (black Leafs jersey, black goat head Sabres, Adidas green Whalers) and some missing equipment, I actually found this game to be rather fun and playable.
