presentation doesn't Work For Nhl 23

When we are saying ea don t care about us, we are not talking about the people working hard and putting the hour in front of a computer doing their best, but we talk about those who don t give the ressource to game designer who only wish to create the best hockey ever. 

@EA_AljoI do understand that at this time you don't want to state something that may not be valid cause you don't have the information but my thought on transparency and how this should have been handled would being transparent from the start. This would allowed the consumer to be properly informed to make a sound decision on their purchase. So where was this planned change noted before release, cause I want to see where I missed it. If it was a last minute thing due an unforeseen issue than why not state it. I think a lot of this outrage could have subsided by just being honest about it. The world is in a different place and stuff happens. And if it's fully known how much more constructive can we be?

I don't know that the outrage would have subsided, but I would like to see expectations set better.

As far as being constructive goes, I'm mainly talking about voicing concerns without all the abusive anger. Anger I definitely get, but the point is made a lot better when it's not an angry rant.

@EA_AljoFirst off you avoided the question I asked. I want to fact check where it was noted that full presentation was removed and want to know where I can find it noted prior to release. Secondly, you as company created the anger. I fully get not being positive and how it tends to make the whole situation worse but this all could have been avoided if it was stated from the start that this was removed. Sadly, the cause of the hate is driven by the lack of transparency which was caused by the company. If they don't want to hear the hate than is it to hard to ask for honesty from the start. We don't want to be hateful or give angry rants. We want to play the game we were passionate about and look forward to each year. That is not asking for a lot. Especially from an option that was in the game last year.

I personally have never complained about and NHL game and also own mostly all of them going back to the NHL 94. I was always one to step and praise them for the steps the team took.. even with glitches.. the added modes and small additions of team Canada last year were great. I am also one who got NHL day one for the past 20 years. So for me to do this is hard cause all I wanted to do was play some NHL franchise and enjoy the whole experience. I think I share that feeling with many. Its not fun having to this and live on maybe false hopes that it will be fixed. It's the trust that is being lost in this situation that hurts the most.

It's frustrating as a long time OG player of the franchise to hear that 'expectations' should be set better. Our expectations are entirely set based on the initial teaser videos EA puts out. I've never complained about the game, and as mentioned in my previous post, am always appreciative of the game that's been put out. But this year was different - how the development team could think it was a good idea to pull back on the presentation options is hard to fathom for a Sports game. When I first played, I assumed it was an option that they'd be fixing within the first couple of days. I couldn't believe once I heard that it was intentional this year to remove the full presentation option! In a sports game!?

When people play a sports game, they want to mimic the pro experience, and what 99% of us know is what we see on TV. That's the experience we want. We want realism. The game feels 'cheapened' this year, and steps away from the full scale experience we're looking for. I've bought this game every year for at least the last 15 years on release day - if I had known you were going to pull back on the presentation, I wouldn't have paid the $100 on day one to get the game. It's disappointing that not only was the presentation removed, but was one of the few things specifically advertised as an improvement. What's been put out is not an improvement, and I hope EA is working to correct this. 

I have zero complaints with any of the game play improvements - I understand you can only do so much to re-invent the game. The game play is great! But things you can improve upon year after year is the presentation.

Everyone is talking like all the "full presentation" options are there, coded into the game and the button to turn it on was taken away, but the reality is much more likely that the "full" presentation was totally removed from NHL 23, and it's just not possible at this point to add it all back in, the code could totally destroy the game and make it broken and unplayable...

So they'll "take the feedback to heart" and "work hard to regain our trust" for NHL 24, and promise to deliver "the best NHL game the FANS truly deserve"

Look for those points in the "presentation update blog post"

You're exactly right.  There's probably 0% chance of this being re-added to the game.  That said, they should have had the common sense to not remove it in the first place, or like previous people's comments stated, they should have posted that it was going to be removed so folks could make an educated decision on purchasing the game.  But they'd rather take our money instead.

I think when he said he’d like to see expectations set better was more him confirming that this was not noted anywhere. 

In fact, I’d be willing to bet money (not a lot, but some) that he didn’t even know presentations were removed until this thread was made. 

The best part is ..... you have no idea who the starting goalies are in the game. Fanatstic. It's pure genius. 

Next year just take away the scoreboard and everything will be perfect. 

@kyl_35That easily could be the cause and they probably didn't know but after assuming the actual game would be released and not a beta version or another NHL 15 quality level of a game.. I'm still asking cause we all deserve an official response and them taking ownership of this. Will that happen I doubt it but I'd rather call them out on it than stay quiet. 

@FaceAngelicIf we are lucky next year they will make our lives much easier take away everything except trading players, hiring coaches and simming games. I mean, according to their logic we are not coaches or players, so why should we actually play games in franchise mode and edit strategies.

Let's face it, NHL22 was the last installment that will be a complete offline package. Until HUT is blocked as online gambling for minors that will be the future of this product.

@GREYEN_93For me I'm just judging it based on EA's normal M.O where they copy and paste everything and just mold the few small changes in. Graphical glitches from NHL 22 are still in NHL 23 on the presentation side.. or Madden where you can have assets from previous Madden games in the new game cause they don't go and update them (signs will show Madden 21 in Madden 22).. or the Madden 21 franchise menu screen showing up for 2 seconds before the new one made for Madden 22 overlaps it.. which means old one is still running in the back ground. If they removed all of that coding it will never come back because that will be added work that can't be done in a year.. that's how they get game out each year.. it's base is always copied and pasted.. plus the option to edit line strategies.. it's probably the same.. there was issues with the new pp and pk format so they just turned off the ability to change them. It's so much easier to turn off an option or an ability to do something than to completely remove it. They can hide or leave in the code dormant so when they do being it back they make a change or 2 so it looks slightly different. Has a different name and calls it an all new feature. Madden 23 was primed for it this year with their skill based passing (marketed as a all new feature) compared to target passing in Madden 18 which at that time was also a new feature but is actually the same minus a UI change and what button you use.

Seriously i'm mad and sad that the HUT players has all the attention and EA don't even care about offline users like me no more, the lack of improvement especially related with the full presentation they've removed pissed me so off that i really feel i got robbed on this one.

You can request a refund for false advertising and bugs. I know a lot of people who have done this. It’s not worth it and I hope most request one.

If HUT dies this series dies. EA is just way to greedy and won’t be able to justify making a game that doesn’t net X amount of money.

Be careful what you wish for. This is coming from an offline franchise player

Yes. We provide as much information as we can.

I'm not trying to defend EA I'm just your average Joe gamer. I rip into EA hard because I think they deserve it but I am also honest. EA did have something in their presentation deep dive where it was in written form that only 6 teams would have it.I did see that list. Howerer, like most people, I only saw it after this entire thing was an issue. It really was fine print. They did it in a way where the average person prolly missed it. I don't care so much about the pre game presentations anyways. They are overated. What really ticks me off is they have it stuck on condensed mode which is lame.

@EA_AljoYes that was noted so I do appreciate that. I however do not see a mention of the removal of the rest of the presentation there. You did state it was intended, which would mean it would be part of the development process. So I'm unsure why that was not noted when this was created as well. If we are following informative part. Where I can find that noted info? I checked the website and that and see nothing. 

Just a note, they aren't working for some of the teams noted, nor the WOC and custom teams in Franchise mode. I have used my custom team in Franchise mode with the presentation but it doesn't work. 

EA Sports - It is in the money
