We absolutely understand how frustrated many of you are with the changes to presentation and hate to see that happen. I can't state that enough. However, another lengthy thread isn't going to have a different outcome. We all want the previous presentation to return. Should that happen, or if I have any other details on this, they will be relayed here.I will participate in this thread for now, but there isn't any new information that I can share. Should this thread turn out like the other, we'll go back to keeping out of the conversation as our presence normally just makes things worse.
Fair enough , would you be able to give an example of posts that would be fine and ones that wouldn’t be so that way we have a guideline to follow to prevent the conversation from getting uncivil?
The Answers HQ rules can be found here. As long as you're not breaking these, your post should be good. We're fine with negative feedback so long as it's of the constructive criticism kind. When posts are more of a rant and trash talking the dev team, those aren't considered constructive. I get that everyone here is very passionate and that boils over, but angry rants don't carry near as much weight as someone detailing what their issues are in a civil manner. We've seen a lot of those as well as the former. Again, we know how you all feel. That's extremely apparent, but there's nothing else we can say about this currently.

@EA_Aljo I'm not sure if this has been mentioned by others but the removal of the presentation options have also interfered with my gameplay this year. There are multiple times in a game i can't get the line changes that i want because the game runs too fast for me. With the full presentation you could easily change your lines during a replay and now there are times where it only takes 2 seconds from the whistle to the faceoff.

I’ll second this. I often change my lines, Strategies and Faceoff formations on the fly during cutscenes. It actually king of feels like I’m coaching my team a bit when I do that. Since Hockey is one of the few sports where players are substituted right in the middle of play pauses in play are a great time to organize your team and add some structure to what is otherwise a chaotic sport.

I'll third this, I love playing a slow simulation-type game and honestly this year has allowed the most in that. The game feels better on a simulation level than I've ever had it before with my current slider set. It's sadly ruined when I am forced into a line change with a tired group just because it goes from whistle to face off!
Not to mention, some people like myself just enjoy watching replays. I have to manually go into the main menu and break the flow of the game just to watch an AI goal this year, I do hope EA sees how big of a deal this is to the single-player crowd.

This is my big problem to with this condensed presentation in ultra speed i have not the time to change the lines before puck drop after a goal. Also very sorry to se this beautiful graphics not given the maximum benefit to a worthy presentation and if this is not done in NHL24 i could se a huge drop off of offline players that will play the old versions of NHL games instead including myself.
- 3 years agoWhen will the camera be back? I can't play now thanks to you? What to do? no one returns my money.

I had posted in the original thread about how me and my son were very disappointed the full broadcast was removed. I unfortunately had to return NHL 23 as we find it unimmersive without the full broadcast option. We live in Edmonton but I don’t always have the money to take him to the Oilers games so we like to recreate the experience at home. I actually think the presentation was very good in NHL 22, it just needs to be brought back that’s all. I definitely think it could be expanded upon though ! We also play FIFA 23 and the presentation in that game is incredible, pre game it shows players entering the dressing room, camera crews setting up on the field, shots of the home city streets and stadium, players coming out onto the field and warming up, it goes over all the starting lineups and game plans etc. After goals or fouls it will show broadcast style replays of the players celebration or reaction and commentators will talk about it. Half time and post game it also puts together a highlight reel that recaps the story of the game. All of this stuff really adds to the immersion and these are some awesome ideas that would be incredible to see in NHL 24 ! Obviously not all of it, but bringing back full broadcast and adding a couple things would be great and I will absolutely purchase the game if you do.

Ok, one thread was blocked but here seamlessly continued. Therefore, at least that's how I see it, we were once again clearly warned to comply with the rules, it is quite possible that, as I did not notice the previous warning. Extremely fair to warn you all again. And thanks to the fact that you didn't delete it or individual posts, because he was really heard by the developers. How much he ultimately did this will be seen that this will take a while is out of the question. If NHL 23 is much more fun again at the end, I like to wait. Dear developers, please take the time, an unfinished update does not help anyone .. and thanks again for noticing us.

@FIRELORD_ChemWait, they confirmed they are working on reverting the changes and bringing the replays back into the game? Where can I find that confirmation please?

This was never stated. Should we have news on changes to presentation, we'll announce that here.

Bought 23 for my son- he shelved it because of the inexplicable reason by EA to remove “Option” of full presentation.
Then to add insult to injury- Weeks ago EA removed True Broadcast or the “Option” to have this camera view.
I can’t get my money back - but I’d like your opinion on this matterwhat sense does this make ?
And do you think these OPTIONS will ever be reinstated ?Because for me - my son and many others it is mind boggling..
It’s honestly among the most mind boggling choices made by a sports game that I can think of to remove 90% of its presentation yeah actually advertise that element of their game. There’s so much more that can be said but if said this thread will unfortunately get locked.

It’s a shame because I’m really enjoying the NHL irl this year but as it stands there is no hockey game that fully attempts to replicate what I see on my TV ☹️

Shame on you EA!!!! Shame on you!!!
This game took a huge step back. Like a 10 year step back. And what is up with the graphics for the penalty box cut scenes!? Looks worse than Xbox 360 and I’m using Series X in 4K.
Shameful!

Add that in with no official response and logical explanation, it’ll be hard to maintain a productive discussion unfortunately. While there is no intent of personal attacks on individuals in my response, this experience has damaged my and many others perception of the development team responsible for the current product. Use this as a lesson , especially in regards to falsely advertising “features” NHL 15 Should have been the last straw for many, don’t ruin the bridges that are already unstable with the fanbase.

Is there any word on a new patch coming soon? I know I'm getting my hopes up but it's been a while since the last patch anyways.
I sometimes dream about logging on to OS and seeing an article about the latest NHL 23 patch adding full presentation then going out to buy the game 😂

Oh no please don't give in. It's not worth it. Don't give them a dime for this crap. You'll be sorry you did tbh. Wait it out til next year my friend

I was about to buy NHL23 but thanks god I tried the trial version in XGPU to just realize that this ridiculous condensed video can’t be changed.
It’s so stupid I can’t even understand how anyone in EA could come up with this idea.
Thanks to this * “fast” scene changes I can’t even manage to change lines or strategy for the next shift.

I’m still on NHL 22. I liked my franchise mode so much I decided to keep 22 until this years trade deadline in hopes of 23’s bugs being fixed & more up to date rosters before I purchased it and started a new franchise mode.
This thread is so long I can’t get the original posts to load. Can someone explain to me what you mean by they removed the full presentation?
Are you referring to the new cup celebration and other animations like that? The new game animation experience was really the only reason I was looking forward to buying the new one otherwise it seems like just a roster update.
thanks

Ya know how in NHL 22 you have presentation options? So full and condensed? Well they removed the option to choose full... So no little to no goal replays cut scenes or replays of hits and saves not showing who the starting goalies are. All those things from 22 not in 23. Look up some gameplay for 23 like I did and you'll get a good idea of what's in and what's not.
- 3 years agoI know it’s a pretty small thing, but i wish they would bring back even just small things like “Stanley Cup Playoffs” painted on the ice in franchise mode when you are playing in the playoffs. Why would something like this even be removed?
