I definitely get that, but those are players in HUT, which is more of a fantasy league. You can have a player without a helmet in the EASHL as well, but again, that's not the real NHL. Franchise Mode represents the modern-day NHL. I'm just providing a little context on why this might not be an option. I'm not saying we shouldn't have this feature. 

@EA_AljoBut this year we will be able to customize our franchise mode with anything from 6-48 teams, so doing a 6 team franchise mode for example is not the real modern day NHL either, but more of a fantasy league. I'm really glad that option is added, now I just hope we get the no helmet option as well so we can do original 6 or 70's season rosters for a custom franchise/season mode. That would be so awesome.

That's a good point. You can certainly create your own league that doesn't reflect the current NHL, but it still takes place in the modern era of hockey. At any rate, I hope these features are added someday.

Hey @EA_Aljo ! I do agree that the game is focusing on modern hockey as it should. But they could do both worlds. I just say NBA 2K23 is going to have not just one but three classic "ERAS" where you can start a franchise mode with.

And... 🙂

Depending on what era you start the logos, team rosters,floors uniforms are accurate to the era, original broadcast from that era,different commentary in the eras, authentic rules....

And you can still edit everything as you want, add expansion teams etc....

So its not about what is possible and what is not, 2K have proved that its about what kind of product the game company want to deliver to the costumers.

If EA would just open up fully edit all in franchise mode anytime in all their games, and actually make better creation options and not lock in som of the game modes, the game would actually by really good and everyone could make it fun for a hole year. 🙂

That’s been my dream for NHL for as long as franchise mode has existed!!!

I see the helmetless creation talk is still alive from the NHL 22 area forums.  It's amazing how you can't get such a simple answer as to why it's not available.  My theory still is they can't per the license allow you to make helmetless NHL players.  EASHL isn't really the NHL so it works.  You are better off asking for them to make a PC version of NHL because then you can just edit their files and force change yourself.

I agree until we get someone at EA that cares about the old rosters this is all well get. 

@AtishksinghI'm totally same mind than you. About me EA Sports want focus only online game modes and they have forgotten players ,which like play offline game modes and create players and teams. They would need remember, that many peoples pay every autumn 60 to 70$ about new NHL game . What we getting on this money? We getting game, where has been updated online game modes as HUT and CHEL and but not update creation zone. Okay in NHL 22, they updated "play by play" name list. It was good thing,but in creation zone is lot of things what should be update. Forexample updated location list, more jersey styles, more historic logos, more skater- and goalie gears. Forexample CCM Eflex5 goalie gears has publish durring NHL 21, but they not have added to game. Would be nice if we have more older skater- and goalie gears in use.
