Re: Getting started online

Appreciate the help/input. Don't know that I've got the stomach to pursue this any farther and from other similar posts I've read, seems like a black hole of frustration.

It sounds like you might be trying to sign in to an old account that is possibly disabled. An advisor will need to help with this. To get in touch with one, try opening a case here. Thanks!

Sounds good. If you have any other issues, please reach out again. Thanks!

At almost a week since I opened a case on this issue, I'm back again asking for help on how to ask for help.

The day after opening the case I get an email saying "We're working on your issue" and I can expect an email update as soon as they have new info.

Three days later I get another email saying they're checking in to see if I still need help and if I do, I should "resume the case on EA Help. I did that or at least I thought I did. How hard is it to hit the resume button?

This morning I went to the case and it says it's waiting on a response from me. I once again hit the resume button.

Is it just my unrealistic expectation that this should be a relatively quick resolution to a simple problem? Should I be approaching this from a different direction/angle? Or, is this just the way it works?

    Thanks

An advisor will respond as soon as they can. It may take a couple of days, unfortunately. You could try opening another case to see if chat is an option.

I was finally able to get an advisor via chat and he sorted it in 5 minutes. Thanks.

Played first game in Online Versus and found it to be very choppy/laggy. I think I read Online Versus is a peer to peer connection and thought I saw opponent connection was poor. Does that explain it or is there something I can/should do on my end?

I believe my connection is solid and I read here about changing primary and secondary DNS settings can help, so I did that. Also power cycled router and PS4.

    Any advise?

    Thanks

Yes. Peer to peer connections don't take place on our servers. Either you or your opponent are the host. So, it could be a poor connection if either of you has a bad connection. Have you tried playing WoC or HUT? Both of those take place on dedicated servers so if your connection is fine there, most likely, you're connecting to someone either far away or that has a bad connection.

The host is randomly chosen. A bad connection would be when the meter is red and says Poor. Do you ever lag or disconnecting in other games?

  • @EA_Aljo
This was literally the first and only online game I have ever played so...... Where is this meter? I do remember seeing something at the bottom of one screen saying opponent connection was poor or something to that effect.

It's at the bottom of the screen when you match up. In game, you can go to the pause menu to check your connection.
