Try deleting the personal saved data for NHL 23. It's possible you could lose any offline saves and changes to settings. Normally, those will download from the cloud, but I can't guarantee that will happen. Go to Settings/Storage/System. Locate NHL 23 and delete the saved data. Let me know what happens. Thanks!

Have you tried power cycling yet? If not, do that now with the following steps: unplug your modem/router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem/router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not.

Nope doesn’t work… it loads for like 3 mins then just gives me the error message in the game

Thanks for trying. You're getting this error as soon as you try to load in to WoC or does it happen after getting in to WoC and trying to load in to another area of it?

So when I get to the Home Screen I press world of chel. Then it advances to the xfactor screen showing off that player. Than I get to the screen where my guy skates in and stands there. Then it loads for like 5 mins than it will give me the failed to retrieve data error code

Can you do anything on that screen or can you not move at all while that's attempting to load?

Nope it just spins and at the top right it says checking. And if I get loaded in and hit clubs it will just load and load and load eventually giving me a failed to retrieve data error code.

It sounds like you sometimes get loaded in. Can you get this to happen and then try swapping out all your gear for something different? Possibly, there's a bugged item causing this. Can you also try creating a different loadout and switching to that instead?

I can’t even get to my load out or clothing cause it will just give me an error because it’s loading for so long

When I try to access my clothing all it does is give me two error codes. And when I’m loading to get into the clothing section it says checking for updates top right

I have been getting this same error.
Playing Xbox one version on series S
I've deleted my data.
Uninstalled the game
Unplugged my router.
Plugged it back in, reinstall the game.
Tried everything really. It let me accept an invite yesterday then I was able to stay in the lobby. Today I cannot load into anything. I get the failed to retrieve data error

I also want to note that when it loads.into World of chel I briefly get this screen - which is the screen for loading into a game. It's almost like there's a duplicate session that was never previously closed.
This is popping up when I try to enter World of Chel from my home screen. Ot the goes into regular loading screen that takes 3+ minutes
