Re: LT abuse is still there

@KidShowtime1867 Yup, sad. Bigger problem with LT pumping is that it messes totally already nerfed poke aiming. In 22 I was very successful stripping puck with stick lift from LT spammers. Now it’s 9/10 a penalty, even if you hear that “success” click sound.

    10000%%%%

The stick lift in '22 was very effective for players like this who got too close to you. Now , like you said, it's a slash 90% of the time.

Poke check has been nerfed when in tight.

Stick Lift has been reduced to a penalty button.

Poke check unrealistically slows down defenders to the point where the puck carrier and just skate by with zero skill/effort.

Using DSS to limit passing lanes slows down defenders as well, further discouraging proper defending.

As of now, defending is basically just letting forwards walk in to the zone and trying to time a body check - but any skilled player can see that coming.

    Defense has been completely nerfed.

Trying to play any sort of defense this year is borderline impossible.  It's awful.

Yea man. I'm slowly starting to learn how to time DSS so that I'm not caught.. but it's still not like it used to be where you could actually use it as a deterrent. Now it's a reactionary mechanic which defeats half the purpose of the tool.

The false advertising bit also chaps me like I'm sure it is everyone else.

Many of Twitch streamers also dislike the LT movement. I'm part of that community and we have complained about the direction of the game. Sadly only 3 people get listened to and that is the main CM's friends who are LT abusers also. My club friends played them the other night and all they did was LT the whole game. My friend got video of the gameplay. Just sick of not being listened to as a consumer.

I think you can draw a line to when the new CM took over and when the series began it's downfall in to fortnite drop-ins, emotes & the constant push to buy HUT packs, while things like presentation and gameplay fell to the wayside. It's clear that there's a 'clique' among the CM and a few Twitch Streamers and they very obviously pull strings with people to get the game tuned to their specific skillset. They don't see it that way though.. they see it as 'providing feedback'. The problem is, their feedback tends to weigh more than the feedback from regular players on the forums and social media. They'll deny it.. but we know the truth.

Yeah it's brutal right now.   What I dont like is that, if you've ever played hockey, or watched hockey in your life(minus outliers like McDavid or Mackinnon), you KNOW that you're generally faster without the puck than you are with it...I've never lost speed from making a poke at a puck IRL, EA seems to think every other movement in your biomechanics ceases in order to complete this action.   It's something as simple as understanding that you won't lose speed if you keep your feet moving

  • I’ve been playing CHEL pretty damn competitively for about a decade and a half now and consider myself an elite two way forward. The game feels busted right now. The SPEED buff along with clean pokes magnetizing right back to attackers/combined with LTing is just pure insanity. In tight, short side of the Goalie is also over exploitable. Ultimately though the speed is laughably over the top. A patch can’t come soon enough

@Fev3RDream4 The speed won't be getting toned down. They also said they aren't really gonna change things so what you see is what you get unless it's actual bugs.

My first drop-in game, you'll never guess what happened.. the syncing loop where after puck from it loops to the face off.. you know the same issue that had been mentioned a thousand times in last years game.. tell me 22 wasn't just copy and pasted onto 23, without actually fixing any bugs in the game, yet they're still gonna charge us full price.. all the tech test felt like was a tuner update for 22.

How often is that happening? Was it just the one game or are you continually experiencing a desync?

So far it was just the one game right off the opening faceoff, sometimes is does it during the intermissions too, just sits at the syncing screen longer than usual. I haven't noticed the issue in club games though, just drop-ins. 😊 connection seems to be better too, so far I haven't played a game with yellow ping. So that's good too!
