4. Add a tip button. Could be clicking in right stick. This would need to be timed after shots, not held. This should add some skill to tips and re-directs. Could also make slap passes usefull, being able to redirect pucks.

Are you under the impression that players on the ice aim their sticks to shoot the puck midair, hitting at just the right time?  No one has the reflexes to do that.  They hold their sticks along the path to get it to bounce off.  Why should it be made harder to do it in game than in real life?

Players absolutely aim when tiping pucks. They don't randomly hold their stick out hoping to make contact. Or just happen to be near a shot and throw their stick out. It's intentional, unlike this game. There is a huge timing element to tipping pucks. You see all the time swating the stick down to drop the shot.

This timing is no different than one touch passes or quick shots when recieving the pass in game terms. What I don't want to see is players tiping pucks in without intentionally trying to.

Are we talking real players tipping or in-game?

Tipping in it's current state seems very random to me - I basically just keep taking large circles and tilt the right stick L2 as soon as it gets near, hoping I don't get a hit/interference.

We *could* actually be choosing the direction left and right where we want the puck to go but it all happens so fast idk. Would be nice if someone from the team could clarify.

Real players can deliberately change the direction at will, not just left-right, but also up-down (and its actually quite easy if you're familiar with your teammate's shots), but I think it would be very hard to implement to the game control-wise.

Trouble with that specific area of the ice is accidentally hitting someone - we would need to remap the hit button or further tweak L2 to get the sweet spot. Regardless, more tips would make the game better.
