Re: My EASHL Defensive Builds

As far as pure defense goes, I quite like what I see. (It's clear to me these builds are meant to be used with teams full of human players - I don't believe this would be overly viable in say 3's 2v2 or 6's 2vs X but still very interesting).

I don't personally like to see balance and strength so low, but as long as you can manage your passing I think that PMD will be great.

I feel the DD role would be better suited to a taller/heavier guy to take advantage of the longer stick reach but overall I like it - I didn't realize you could make them this fast but that endurance definitely balances things.

  • @TTZ_Dipsy Absolutely. These builds are definitely not suited for any AI other than maybe an AI goalie, but I use the PMD version for 3's w/ a human goalie for clubs. DD for anything else. Even with silver Truck for PMD, hitting can still be a chore if opposing players are not skating north-south or wearing perks like Big Rig and Unstoppable. The low balance and strength I can get away with because my team plays a decent backcheck defense. Then it's all about not getting over-zealous and stick to man-man coverage.

And you're right about the taller/heavier guy! That was the build I used in 22! Well, at least the max height part of that. This year though, the forwards seem faster in their hustle, so I felt like I needed to cut down both height and weight to stick with the faster, shiftier players.
