There are of course some RNG elements, but good aim absolutely helps shots find the back of the net. I'm talking about things completely out of your control like broken sticks.

Broken sticks are part of the game and I love it ! Yes it’s frustrating when it happens, especially when you have that golden opportunity, but it’s part of hockey…
Same thing when your teammates takes penalties, when the opponent goalie stands on his head. All out of your control, but that’s what it’s all about ! 😀
The problem with broken glass, hitting into the boards, and shattered sticks back in the day were that they happened way too frequently. You can't really blame the studio for that sort of thing either since there isn't an actual RNG slider you can tweak to hit the "sweet spot".
We can control, with fairly high authority, shot aim, poke and body checking, and success rate on dekes. To my knowledge, you can't really control one-timers up close, charging, auto defense/offensive pickups, and how tips are aimed.
@PernellKarl027
Yeah hockey is much out of control, that what makes it so cool when actually Connor Mcdavid control something in 25mph, should not be possible.
Broken sticks 'totally random' yes, but same for all, plus it add spice aaaand frustration... And ofc, realism.
On good and bad.
the stick is not a barrier to the throw
It doesn't look like the puck is hitting the stick. I would need to see a better replay to know for sure though.

No no, puck not hitting the stick. Stick hitting stick. I know that not working. it's just so insulting, you're so close. And you can't do anything. ) not error or bug.
I really look forward and hope for nhl24
In most cases, sticks colliding will knock the puck loose. Again though, the video isn't very conclusive. I really need to see a better angle that shows if the sticks are contacting or not.
Video.
That's better, but you still can't tell if the sticks are passing through each other. The camera moves behind the carrier blocking the view.
Thank you for the feedback, @bruanor09
@bruanor09What's wrong with the clip? Everything we know of the mechanics says nothing was there to cause a problem. I see no stick on stick to potentially stop it. So explain more what the actual problem is judging from the game mechanics.
Lmao didn't see the next page with more talk.
Anyway always expect defense to be the hardest thing. Defense doesn't sell fun and excitement. It brings up how boring the trap area of hockey was.

Yep. Defense isn't the go-to position for most since you don't get the accolades for scoring, but for some of us, it's incredibly satisfying shutting down the other team's offense 🙂
I haven't played goalie in years. It's bad enough getting scored on as a D man. Every single goal against I feel at least partly responsible for since it's my job to not let pucks get to the net. I couldn't take the stress of actually playing goalie. That'd just drive me crazy lol.
