Re: Why is nobody complaining about the hitting bubble?

@EA_Aljo I feel bad for ya, bud.

It's gonna be a rough go for this year because people will still complain. But when nobody buys the next game because they don't want to be put through this abusive cycle of a company taking their money and saying "to hell with it", there will be less people to complain, so that's good!

It is official that this game is on life support because people can tolerate misguided care, but people won't tolerate a lack of care at all.

Now EA has to nail NHL 24. They have to get it right and have no bugs because people know those aren't gonna get fixed for that game either.

The pressure on the devs now is absolutely wild.

This really isn't true. The game isn't on life support and we're not just brushing off these reports. You all want answers. I absolutely get that and wish I had them for you. Various issues are being investigated, but I can't guarantee they will be resolved with 23. Which is why I'm trying to set the expectation that it's possible some things will have to wait for a future game.

    Is there a 'conscious purpose' on why the so called 'hit bubble' exist?

    Or, why is it there, does it go under the term, 'various issues' ..?

  • @EA_Aljo

    Then what exactly is being investigated?

    If it's not that 'thing' we here on the board namned as a 'hit bubble' 'problem'.

    @Sega82mega

    Hitting in general. I'm sorry, but I don't have any other details on this.

  • @EA_Aljo

    Cool.

    Hope the investigation will lead to a better hitting and a better game.

    Definitely not a bad thing to look closer on this one.

    😊

    Can you guarantee that these issues will be resolved by the time NHL 24 comes along? Because some of them have been in the game for 3 to 4 years now and it's ridiculous. If you can't fix some of these things just be honest and tell us and people would probably get less upset with you guys for the transparency.

    If they do fix or adjust the... roundish area in which physics don't seem to correctly apply... I would be amazed if it was this year. I've mentioned this before but around when the dev team went silent on the forums they seem to have made the decision not to focus on changing things up after release.

    As for the game "dying" etc. You clearly aren't around very many hut players. They drop enough money to still make this game very profitable even if it used stick figure wire models and hand drawn cover art so there isn't much external pressure to have a "better game".

    So long as people keep the game very profitable each year with sales and hut purchases you're telling EA that you must be satisfied and thus no need to change the statis quo.

    I agree with you.  I used to be one of those HUT whales.  I will no longer give EA my money on a yearly basis to gaslight me.  Until major changes are made, I'm sticking strictly to offline modes on the years I already own, which is every year it's ever been made, all the way back to the genesis NHLPA days.  I play games for entertainment and to escape.  This series has become so stagnant, and broken, that I just can no longer justify paying AAA price for a game who's studio uses the excuse "but we have a small team and budget" to attempt to justify their absolute horrible management of this, and from what I read, other sports series as well.

    EA, what you've done, doing is swapping real sports fans wants and needs out of a video game, to facilitate and profit off of people who may have addictive personalities.  Long time fans of your game, and most fans who truly love and understand hockey have basically been told to kick rocks so that you guys can make a bigger profit.   It's sad to watch.

    "Why is nobody complaining about the hitting bubble?" should be "Why is nobody complaining about the hitting bubble ANYMORE?"

    Because many people who did complain about this issue are not playing this game anymore and those who are still stick with it have realized that their complains have been in vain. Same with so many other bugs like the face-off interference. Your voice will not be heard.

    @Kmahrle83I hear you.

    Although I only bought one HUT pack since the introduction of this mode, most of the times I was buying the annual installment at release date.
    Well, after the recent desaster the next installment I will buy [IF at all] when the title is available on some of the XBox sales events.

    My first hockey game was NHL94 and I've bought EVERY single title right away. NOT anymore.

    The fact we cant even get a slight build rebalance and perk adjustments patch is just a complete disgrace. Been playing CHEL for over a decade now and have always remained on the optimistic side. No way anyone should be silent about the stagnation of this game especially in the age of live service content. The devs are not to blame here. EA is an absolute disgrace of a company. They need to DO THIER JOB and give this studio some resources to flesh this thing out. There MUST be a January bug/balance patch

    Find 10 contradictions:
    1) We are a small indie team
    2) We will release the game every year
    3) The game is worth as an AAA project
    4) For the sake of next year's game, we do not support the broken game of the current year
    5) game pass can not be released, it is necessary to release a new game at full price
