Rivals Mode unable to find opponent

I am able to access and play everything the game has to offer on PS5 except for the rivals mode. I try to access it, it allows me to pick my team and search for an opponent but then never finds one and eventually cancels matchmaking due to not finding an opponent. I even had my brother in the next room on a ps5 try to search for one at the same time, no luck. Even tried removing eachother as friends thinking that was a reason we didn’t find eachother… lol still no luck.. Why is this game mode not working??
