@KlariskraysNHLNope! Im 100% certain that im far more experienced than you.
And i know whats wrong with the game AND what excists and not. Period!
The problem is that EA want it that way… building fortune on frustration at the cost of a quality game.
It is the 3v3 modes that should be deleted. Other than in OT. But i dont like it in OT either. And IRL ive heard that NHL board is looking to change the ot ”rules”.
all the real experienced gamers i know have quit playing the game just because all of the problems, glitches and ”cheats”, (there is not actual cheats IN the game it self) and the additions of non reality modes.
We had a good EASHL team when it was exklusive 6v6 play. But it faded alway with the addition of other modes. Longer waiting time and less actuall games made it just boring.
Now, the problem was/is that most of those team/clubs is the ”exklusive” rights of friends only.
Its there i suggest some kind of a ”draft” system of the drop in gamers.
Its the lack of commitment of the developers to fix this that frustrerates the most of them.
But again, its what ea want.
But guess what. Im planning to stay around for atleast 40 more years! Active playing or not. Im collecting the hockey games. Even if i never play them.
I can say that ive played every single hockey game that has excisted! But im still older than the first.
i know my english is bad. Its not my native language but i think i make me understandable enough.
”Brett Hull Hockey” baby!
And the Zamboni drive i period break in the twoK series!
Or the ”avatars” in the 8bit games.

I think the one big problem is that EA does not listen to their fans enough. How many fans or people who play the game regularly have been really asked for example EASHL outdoor drop in hockey that has existed few years? I do not play EASHL drop in games at all because they do not give me that feeling of real hockey. And the hockey stuff you get from hockey bags are only cosmetic and that is why I do not bother to even open those bags anymore. The game needs something fresh that gives motivation to play more and more, to get hooked with the game you know. For example the stuff you earn from hockey bags need a meaning. Winning games should give players more than just cr points. Earning those hockey bags containing jeans and hoodies feels so pointless right now. The game should reward more if you play well. Do not get me wrong, I like to play EASHL club games with my friends and we have had times when we have had really fun with the game but the game is still missing something that would get the gaming experience to the next level.
What comes to 3 vs 3 EASHL, I think 3 vs 3 should not be deleted, but I do not play that mode either nowadays. I defenetly would play more if penaltyshots were deleted. It would be fun to try 4 vs 3 or even 3 vs 2 powerplay. The best scenario could be that players could choose to play with either penaltyshots or powerplay.
- rsandersr472 years agoSeasoned Ace@FrOhl2011 It really doesn't appear you know how to discuss something with someone. You just want the game made exactly the way YOU want to play it. I don't play EASHL 3's much but it is a fun mode and enjoyed by a lot of people. For all we know, many people may not even buy it if a 3's mode wasn't in the game.
When you use opinions for arguments and follow them with "period" it shows a lack of intelligence. I don't always agree with Follisimo but he, like me; tries to be fair about his opinions and presents facts.
So..
1. Why should 3's be deleted (it was added because most people are searching for games with 2-3 people)
1.a. EASHL isn't the NHL so if because 3s are not NHL then they should get rid of the entire EASHL mode right? EASHL isn't reality, nor is HUT.
3. How does you playing for "X" amount of years make you a subject matter expert on what gamers want today? In all honesty I would argue that you're likely more out of touch with the current gaming community for the same reasons.
2. Explain exactly how this draft will work. You can't just suggest there be a draft with 0 explanation as to how it will work.. - KidShowtime18672 years agoHero

I can guarantee you that Follisimo is a far more experienced player.

Longer waiting time and less actuall games made it just boringI think the waiting time for finding a game depends a lot on your regional server, and whether or not you've enabled crossplay and relaxed your search settings. Our team plays 6's 3-4 nights a week and the only time searching for a game is an issue is during the finals. There's some weird matchmaking going on there that makes things take much longer. Other than that, haven't really had this issue.

But again, its what ea want..We all deal with the little frustrations in this game, but there's a lot of us still playing because it's fun. I don't think it's fair to comment on the 'commitment' of the development team when you (likely) don't have any experience in the nuts-and-bolts of what it takes to put out a game like this every year. But I'm sure you'll tell us all about your engineering background now.

Vote with your wallet.

That's nice and all, but don't forget you're talking to a group of people who have played all of those games too. You're not the only one who played Brett Hull Hockey. Some of us are true OG's and have been here since "NHL Hockey" back in '91 on the Sega Genesis. But we don't use that experience as a reason to say things like :

And i know whats wrong with the game AND what excists and not. Period! We all know what's wrong. We all watch and play hockey IRL - and so do the developers. But making a videogame is incredibly difficult and trying to cater to every single person's particular tastes when it comes to virtualizing a sport is probably the hardest game development in existence. It's not like you can invent lore like in most games.
It's a sport that people are intimately familiar with at a micro scale - we know what equipment players wear, we know the brad of pads goalies should have, we know where the water bottle should be, etc. When developing a new MMORPG or FPS shooter, developers have the luxury of inventing fantasy to create unique gaming moments and gameplay sequences.
EA SPORTS needs to tirelessly recreate the action of a real-world sport that people have an eagle-eye for the details. You'll never please everyone.

Like a nice pair of skates, the sport and game of hockey isn't one size fits all, unfortunately.
I agree that the majority of teams consist of just irl friends, but I know there are a bunch of open clubs willing to take on anyone - sometimes that casual feeling just hits better. Somehow these teams have working stat ticker presentation so there's also that.
I believe playoff matchmaking is still open to everyone unlike the old system so it *should* be as good but I think most of the top teams start trying to play in off-hours for more optimal results. When my buddy had his work hours switched, we started throwing a hail mary at playing suuuuper early at the risk of bad connections with overseas players but kept seeing our usual rivals. Could be a coincidence but idk.
I don't have much experience with the '91 NHL Hockey but hoo boy I love me some Olympic Hockey Nagano '98!

Its there i suggest some kind of a ”draft” system of the drop in gamers. While I wouldn't be sad one bit to see 3 eliminators gone, 3s in other hand can be pretty fun and actually have it's utility when playing at low population hours. When ever you're struggling to find 6s games, instead of quitting the game, 3s is around the corner for a quick matchup and fast pacing mode.
I don't personally play club much but maybe leaving 3s for dropins only could ''possibly'' help 6s club...yet I don't see that as a solution as players doing 3s club will only migrate to 3s dropins making little to no change to 6s club. And make up for a lot of angry peoples.
The real problem right now is the community being split in two with old gen/new gen. They need to find a way to bring everyone all together or literally scratch out old gen. And give the ability to invite cross console.
I've heard too about the NHL OT rule change some months ago, I can't remember where though. They want to make OT 8 minutes instead of 5. But never heard of it again since.
While not a draft system, back in the day we had the lobbies opened for up to 20-30 peoples? (can't remember exactly) with a chat box, there was all kind of discussions going on, from peoples making team matchup for dropins, from casual talking, fights lol and recruiter looking for club members....but its all gone and apparently chatting in a chat box is too offensive now a day.
I'll add that I would like to see 6s dropins back with the NHL uniforms inside stadium and crowd and leave the outdoor rink/outfits from bags to 3s and One only.
Right now only two teams (black and white) for 6s with a lifeless crowd is ridiculously boring.
