this was a stick lift penalty. It’s broken.

Stick lift has never had any leniency - if you weren't pixel perfect it you'd be sent to the box guaranteed. For 23 it's much better just dump all your points into cross check, balance, and strength and just never stick check again.
- KlariskraysNHL4 years agoHero+@TTZ_Dipsy Sticklift was semi decent in NHL 22. Yoink made it actually work great til they nerfed it for some stupid reason. But the best years of sticklifting were from the PS360 days.
It's something that really should be worked on as it's a huge part of the game especially in corners both offensively and defensively. - 4 years ago@TTZ_Dipsy So as a season mode player I suppose I just need to just forget about poke checking and just focus on defensive positioning and body checking.
I notice that if you get in the right position your player will automatically poke the puck away.- 4 years ago@NewHockeyFan I don't think so. Even on rookie low skill AI players dodge checks like Wayne Gretzky. Focus on shot blocking.
- CHILL21GENLEE3 years agoSeasoned Adventurer@TTZ_Dipsy That's all well and fine, but there being a way to work around it or not use it only proves it's a problem...we do what we can but EA needs to do their part as well...maybe fix the absolutely broken goaltending as well....AI of opposing team is the illegitimate child of Roy, Brodeur, and the actual Jesus. Meanwhile my 91 overall tender constantly lets in bad angle bunnies, sometimes just doesnt react at all, and cant seem to find a puck that is anywhere beneath him...either buff our goalies or turn down the God mode of their AI, preferably both.

Also with all due respect to EA, this whole "videos or it didnt happen" stance is not acceptable. We tell you the issue in detail. ...your testers easily replicate to confirm its an issue, a user story is created and prioitized and it gets slotted for a release....why is that so hard for things that are clearly an issue...the answer is money...and the short view that spending to fix issues costs and doesnt make money.. we keep playing and paying.. so why fix anything
