No it literally is. Automatic penalty 90% of the time. Especially EASHL.
Stick lifts in vs and hut is a penalty 90% of the time and until this day nothing has been done to fix it

Honestly I can stick lift ten times per game without getting a penalty on any one of them if I'm being precise about it. The thing is that the logic is a bit broken for sure, but it's pretty consistent. Once you get the feel for when you can use the stick lift in this game, you can do it almost every time as long as you make sure you only do it under the allowed circumstances. Any lapse of focus though and you'll probably get a penalty because your stick and player relative to the opponent's weren't in one of the few advantageous positions where the game allows you to perform a clean stick lift.

I’ve accidentally done stick lift with no player near me (I would say a 8-10ft of space) and was called for slashing. I wish I would have saved that video. It was hilarious.

HOWEVER!
I have had opponents AFK facing me with the puck. We are both stationary. I push X. I GET A SLASHING PENALTY. That’s the kind of stuff that makes you scratch your head. It’s happened twice to me now lol
