Stick lift has never had any leniency - if you weren't pixel perfect it you'd be sent to the box guaranteed. For 23 it's much better just dump all your points into cross check, balance, and strength and just never stick check again.
The problem for me is that when there’s a scrum at the net after I’ve shot and I’m trying to quickly press square, I end up taking a fast rebound shot and then immediately high stick someone because I’ve pressed too many times.
when I’m trying to be more careful, I end up with the puck on my stick with an open net, but don’t press the button fast enough because I’m worried I’ll high stick someone.
I think we should be able to remap stick lift to triangle so that this doesn’t happen - but they don’t allow that on ps4 for some reason.
