Strategies in NHL 23
Are they going to fix strategies in the game so we can go back and edited them like we did in previous games? (picture I’ve provided.)

on series x same problem, i fired my headcoach to get other strategys, but they did not change... still the same strategy from the old headcoach... EA, please fix this

Not a bug. It’s always been that way since they introduced coaching staffs a few years ago. The strategies never change to the new coach.
the old work around was you had to go into the coach profile, write down their preferences, and change them yourself in the strategies menu.
you can’t do that now

So let me get this straight... the 1st coach in your franchise is still auto-generated and not hired by the player? So basically whatever crap strategies the coach that I don't even get to hire has is what I'm stuck with the entirety of my franchise? Wow, what a brilliant design decision EA! LOL this dev team seriously could not be more incompetent... Thank God this is the 1st year I didn't buy into the hype and get the game at launch.
- @JasonColbyHauck Yeah man, so about 3 years into FM i get the ability to draft a Franchise player, but he doesn't fit my team at all. So now instead of hiring a coach that fits him and changing up my line strategies, I have to find players that fit my coach lol. I cant build a team around a player, nope gotta do it around a randomly generated set of things that cannot be changed, and that I have no control over lol.
That was my biggest gripe about the change. The CPU will generally draft the best player available also. So a defensive squad can wind up with a bunch of offensive players that will never improve because they’ll be stuck on their coaches 3rd and 4th lines.
it just doesn’t make any sense. I would actually be fine with not being able to change strategies if the coaching strategies at least updated when hiring a new coach.
@EA_Aljo of course has gone completely quiet on this after telling us that it was meant to be this way. So it was meant to be broken and not work properly??? Why not just take coaching staffs out completely then? All we really want to know is if the Devs are aware that it’s not updating strategies with new coaching hires, and if they will be fixing this with an update. And if not just let us know so we can move on.
- @Caliboy6262_714 This is false. I’ve always been able to change a teams offense and defensive strategies. New coach or who ever. This now Absolutely kills the game not being able to edit strategies.
