Strategies in NHL 23
Are they going to fix strategies in the game so we can go back and edited them like we did in previous games? (picture I’ve provided.)

Yes. The dev team is aware and investigating.
@EA_Aljo What about asking the dev team the reason why we were locked out of editing players? And if it will come back?
Same with editing strategies.. as we know the reason “we’re not the coach” makes absolutely zero sense since we edit lineups, hot dog prices etc etc.. is the reason we were locked out of it because of all the bugs with it that still aren’t fixed?

- @jb24242424 I’ve been asking for the reason why the locked us out of editing players mostly.. and if they will unlock it for us… even askinf EA Aljo for months.. or even a year at this point and they just ignore my question each time
I’m assuming we were locked out of strategies because of the bugs, that they knew about but didn’t say.. and instead EA Aljo used the “you’re not the coach” excuse to cover up, because that doesn’t make any sense lol… - EA_Aljo
I don't have any details on why this change was made and chances are good I won't. If I do get them, I'll report back.

When I asked about this, the answer I provided is what I was given. If I get any other details on this, I'll relay them.
- @EA_Aljo The information you were given was that you don't have any details on why the change was made and you probably never will. That is not an answer- they refused to answer you is what you are telling us. If they don't want you to know, then it is most likely they don't want us to know - not that they are personally spiteful toward you.

Is that why Franchise Mode edit lines isn’t working right now? Are we locked out because we aren’t the coach? It wouldn’t make sense to lock strategies and leave edit lines unlocked… because after all, we aren’t the coach so really we shouldn’t be able to edit lines either right - @heavydutyrammer If you are the GM you also shouldn't be able to play games since you're not the players. Sim or watch only.

I was only just playing yesterday and what the coach sets to what I would said just makes it ridiculous. Can’t even open up the ice - @Andochiefs Yeah it’s such a stupid poor decision they made.. and on top of the poor decision they just break more things with each patch.. the patches don’t even include fixes, just more bugs lol.. for offline modes anyways
For the first time in a long time, I actually sat down this weekend to start and play through a franchise. I could maybe in some sort of scenario live with them locking us out of strategies, although what they really should do is just have line chemistry all reset to 0 if strategies are manually changed.
Anyways, I could live with it if we had way more coaches available to hire mid season and more importantly we were able to manually select from those coaches every time we start a new franchise. I spent so much of my time having to start up a new franchise just to find a coach that matched how I wanted to play/build my team that it’s just not worth it to even start.
I don’t agree with locking player edits either, at least with that I could change up X-factors to compensate and it wouldn’t cause me to completely sour on the game like this does.

They already gave an answer. Go to the first page of the thread. According to devs the removed the ability to change strategies in franchise. It is by design and not a mistake, and it is not likely to change
Yeah BUT THATS JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH
This is a joke, it absolutely makes no sense that I can adjust the strategy prio to the and in the game but not in the main menu. And that I can adjust roster and everything, but not the strategy.
I really hope EA will fix this and make strategies saveable, if not this - after buying the game each year since the late 90s - will be the last version I have bought.@Andochiefs I never said it was a good answer. I was just letting him know that if he is waiting on AN answer, he won’t be getting one
- @Caliboy6262_714 We are referring to the fix they put out. Because even hiring and firing of coaches doesn't change the strategy. That is the issue we are referring to now. It was supposedly fixed lat patch.
- @Caliboy6262_714 Yes mostly referring to the fact that they have said they fixed it but actually made it worse and broke more things. That’s usually what happens with EA anyways, break more things than they fix
I was the first person to post that it wasn’t fixed from the patch in this thread (you guys can go back and look). I am well aware the patch didn’t fix it and was the first person here to point it out.
@EA_Aljo said it was fixed, and that they weren’t able to replicate the issue. Myself, as well as several other users pointed out that it in fact was not fixed and his response to this was to tell us to take a screen capture showing proof of what we were stating.
I don’t have the energy nor the motivation to go through all of that to prove something that myself and other users knows is broken for a fact, when the community manager wants to keep telling us they fixed it.
If you guys would like to take screen captures of you hiring and firing coaches and the strategies not updating then be my guest.
But outside of that my point still stands. If you’re waiting for a different answer you are not going to get one. The community manager doesn’t believe us and claims it was fixed
- @Bahamuta Even then the main post is to give us back editing strategies like we use too. I couldn’t care about the hiring coaches thing. If we could edit like we did. None of this matters.
But I get you they said patch fox and well broke more. I guess like the other patches. I’m getting black screen a lot more more and sync screen alot too This is actually the same thing we have been discussing for two years about editing players. They decided to remove it, we have had countless discussions on why we wanted it back and it still hasn’t returned, so I know I have written off this being changed back as well.
