Man I was so excited for this game. Felt like a kid again waiting for its release.Man what a disappointment.Sorry to say but NHL games have now become exclusively for online players...offline players like myself get nothing. I was going to buy 23 and a new PS5. After the 10 hour trail I won't be buying either.Would of been nice if they updated the Alumni player faces since we even helped them out with that.Many other current day NHLers don't have their real faces either.I've already deleted the trail version, not out of spite, but just that it sucks.I went back to my NHL 21 which plays much better.I advice all other offline players that come to this EA forum to voice their options and suggestions to just not waste your time anymore. Doesn't really seem like anything we really want ever gets put in the game. Like this new shinny Franchise mode that's giving us this new custom league option to recreate the 1980s or even the Original 6.Well have fun having Wayne Gretzky wear #98 and all those old legends will have wrong jersey numbers aswell as the retired jerseys option is NOT IN Franchise mode.Bravo guys Bravo.

Man i feel so shafted this year these are little things that * me off- you get your team on the cup, but im 2 years in and it still says colorados team won the cup the year prior (which they didn’t) so it doesn’t save at all- cant view awards more than 5 years past- goaltenders win records still don’t add up accurately for franchise and league records sane issue with nhl 22- no cool free agency day-no allstar- no winter classic- no editing players for some stupid reasontheres so much more ea needs to do better

@SnizzBarDizz2ohThanks.I think most of us that take the time to go on this forum are a little more gardcore n look for the little details in the game.For many of us, not all, but many find these EA NHL games to be very below.par for offline users like ourselves.We voice our opinions and suggestions here but they usually NEVER get addressed.People are.passionate about the NHL and about the NHL video game too. As per anything in life, some will like, some will hate, all will voice opinion

i think we shouldn't buy this game this year its sad i love hockey so much but now EA get on my nerves they don't care at all . ☹️

@Archatius It would be better if EA either made 2 versions of the game...1 online and 1 offline.Or someone else like 2k sports makes a hockey game to compete

@Atishksingh You can't recreate the 1980s. There isn't enough place to temporarily store the players for that many teams.

@VeronicatheCDI'm not talking about giving every single player their real faces...but at least more should have them.

My friend also posted on here formulas our discord group created for alumni faces using their own creation suite so I know it can be done.
Also in 2022 the game technology is the greatest its ever been in human history. We should be able to store more things into the product harddrive.
Straight up, it does feel like there's maybe 5 people tops working on the new NHL game from EA year to year. Not much gets done from year to year really. I went from NHL 21 to NHL 23 and I don't really see that much difference.

@Atishksingh No, you misunderstand me. I am saying that the custom league thing that they added to make it possible to recreate the 80s cannot recreate the 80s. The means of assigning people to teams means that it would necessitate putting modern guys into the free agency or having duplicates of the 80s players because of how custom teams are still done.

@VeronicatheCD Yes it can be done. I've done it before. You can create 600 skaters and 200 goalies, that's more than enough for 21 teams. Current players can be moved to ECHL teams, alumni teams, national teams etc to avoid them showing up in the mode.

@VeronicatheCDIt can be done. Our discord group has been doing it for a while. A little bit of roster management and time will set it up for you the way you want

@SvenArne123 You can do that with only 5 open spots on each of those teams? You would need 120 teams to store them on for 600 players.

@VeronicatheCD5 spots? Not sure what you mean. I just move any current players and replace them with my created players, or I just create the teams and fill them with the created players and then replace the NHL teams with my created teams in franchise/season mode.

@VeronicatheCD No. The current NHL players won't be in the season/franchise since they are all assigned to ECHL teams, alumni teams and national teams.

@SvenArne123 I stand corrected. I created 20 players, the minimum, and I was able to cram all except one onto Austria. I remember years past not allowing 35 skaters on a team, but more like 22.
