This does help. Thank you. And if EA comes out and says they will not fix the goalies or the bugs then I would have a much better chance at getting refunded. 30 dollars is still 30 dollars. I don't even like playing this game at all. After the computer scores their cheap goals after taking one or two shots, I give up and turn off the game and go to something else. Right now I am playing the women's tournament, and a glaring bug here would be the women are being gendered as men. For example, when one of my gal's gets a goal, the announcer says "HIS second goal of the game!" This has been an issue for literal YEARS! EA STILL hasn't fixed this.
So far, we haven't been able to reproduce this. If you get some video of it, please send it over. Thank you!
You're not able to reproduce what everyone is experiencing? You ARE playing NHL 23, right? It seems impossible for me to believe that all of us are experiencing horrible goaltending and EA, of course, cannot reproduce it. With all due respect, I find that VERY hard to believe.

no...for some reason the in-house copies of NHL games can't reproduce the retail copy version issues...

Which is why they never fix the bugs. They always wait until the next installment.... where they add all new bugs.

I just did a test of 5 games and took notes how the shots were taken and how they scored.

Some extra remarks:
- I'm just an average player, not in any shape or form a good player.
- Scoring was easy for me as the AI hasn't learned yet how I play in the save. My shot totals will go down as will my scoring usually after 10'ish games and I start to lose games too. Though, it's a first time in NHL 23 when I've used such a good team. Also I'm still trying to find a good slider settings. Anyways my scoring is irrelevant in this test.
- I used TBL as a test team as Vasy is the best goalie.
- I noticed that almost all the goals CPU team scored were perfect shots to both top corners.
- Breakaways were almost always a goal. CPU deked and scored unrealistically high percentage.
- The shot accuracy for CPU is 0/100, but still they do not shoot of the mark.
- CPU team do not shoot outside of the best scoring perimeter and if they do, it's usually to get a tip-in goal.
- CPU team really do not shoot a lot.
- This problem isn't caused by how the goalies are scripted. It's how the CPU team behaviour has been scripted. They don't shoot enough, but when they do their shots are inch perfect and when they get to the specific areas or situations they will score in unrealistically high percentage.

This is why I asked for video. That gives us additional details to help with reproducing it. There could be something different about your game. Maybe it only happens under specific conditions that we aren't accounting for. I know you all think it's silly we ask for video, but this is exactly why we need it. When we play as normal, it's not there, but if you have some other setting we're not accounting for, that could make all the difference.

I'm sorry, but I cannot accept this answer. This is a known issue that a number of us is having. And you think it is a lone issue with my copy of the game? All my settings are the same from previous years. I never change the settings. Meaning that I use the same settings I use every year with each installment of the game. I make sure they are the same as I have the previous game installed at the time still and I make sure that all settings are identical.
Taking video doesn't confirm anything but that the computer gets cheap goals. Period. I played last night and the first cheap goal came after shot 2. So they had one goal in just two shots. And the shot was questionable. The second goal was another cheap shot. They just threw it at the net and my goalie just sat there and let it go in. And the third goal was the worst yet. It came not 10 seconds after the 2nd goal and that was when I turned it off. The computer basically crashed my net and kicked it in and it was allowed. I do that and it is denied.
You guys need to fix the cheating. And I believe the person above who said EA will NEVER fix it this year and that you all will wait until next year to restructure goalies. I guess with nothing new to add to the game you all need to break certain parts of it and then fix it in the next installment and call it something like "Restructured AII with goalies! Now they are better than ever!" Or something like that. We were all not born yesterday. We know how EA operates. And if there were other NHL games out there, I guarantee you we would be jumping ship very quickly. I know I would. I am not ashamed to say it either.
This treatment of the fanbase and asking for videos just because you can't reproduce it on your end (what about YOUR settings? How do we know YOUR settings are the same as ours?) but all of us are having the same issue, especially that person above you played 5 games and shared his findings. If that isn't proof enough that it is not just me, then I don't know what is.
The only thing left to do is to make the computer the dumbest on the ice. Turn off ALL the shooting and passing and tune them down to 0. THEN the game will actually be fair. But I'll still bet they score 3-5 goals a game because the goalie AI is garbage this year. But, if the computer is going to cheat and get practically every goal to go in with their cheap shots, then I will cheat as well.
