When jump in to game in Franchise Mode playoffs, 5 min OT instead of continuous

How often does the bug occur? Occasionally (10% - 49%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Playing a Franchise Mode, so far have seen only in 2022-23 season, but may come up in others I'm not sure. Into a playoff series, game 4, and simmed the first 2.5 periods. Played with 10 mins to go, on a custom preset, and tied the game to take it to overtime. Was not a custom league, so surely the playoff rules were normal - continuous overtime. However, it went straight to a 5 minute 3 on 3 overtime, same as the regular season, and no score in that took it to a shootout.
What happens when the bug occurs? Game goes from 3rd period to 5 min 3 on 3 overtime, then to a shootout if no score. I haven't seen this when simming the whole game, so probably just when sim part and play part.
What do you expect to see? Should see a continuous overtime starting when the game is tied after 3 periods of playoff game.
