The defender turns to aim for the hit and doesn't make full contact. Also, you have to take in to consideration the player ratings. That's going to affect the impact of a hit.

You need to sacrifice a slot for truculence if you want your skater to aim properly for hits. Otherwise it doesn't activate hits properly.
Hitting is absolutely broken without truculence. With it, it works.
I don't use truculence and haven't had a problem landing hits that make good contact where there's a good amount of opposing force. My build is a PMD also so not the biggest hitter. Admittedly, hitting isn't my main line of defense, but when I do use it, my hits tend to at least separate the carrier from the puck.

I actually had a couple more examples from these 2 games but my clips got cut off for some reason.- EA_Aljo3 years ago

In the first video, the carrier is using puck protect. This stabilizes them better against hits. Also, the defender is backskating. They aren't going to have as much momentum behind the hit.
In the 2nd clip, the carrier is being hit from the side. Again, there's not as much momentum behind the hit. They also go in to puck protect right after so possibly they hit that button at the same time as the hit from the side. The defender also looks like they're smaller than the carrier and we don't know the ratings between both players.
For the 3rd video, the hitter is chasing the carrier. They also lose speed when they hit their defender teammate. This is another example of not having enough momentum. If you have 2 objects traveling in the same direction, the object behind trying to hit the object in front of them won't make as big an impact is if those 2 objects were colliding head on.
The 4th clip is more of the same. The defender decides to make a sweeping turn and try to hit them into the boards. They also don't make good contact. It would have been a lot more effective to hit from the front or boardplay.
None of those are showing any sort of hitting bubble.
- TheUnusedCrayon3 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Aljo I beg to differ. If you get hit and you literally don't react to it as if you're Hulk Hogan or the Ultimate Warrior circa 1992, there's a bubble there.
Why are you able to throw a hit at somebody, move them 5 feet in the process and they don't even react aside from being carried that distance, but it isn't enough momentum to cause an animation from being hit? That's not enough momentum for you?
I don't understand why you'd take that stance.
But it has become quite apparent that anything I post you'll find a way to say it was a bad hit and deserved to have zero reaction from the puck carrier. I'm just wasting my time posting videos of how I can abuse the game mechanics by simply turning away from hits (with zero momentum in my end while a guy can literally full charge at me) or I can continue to skate into players without consequences as shown here:

Meanwhile this wasn't an issue in 22, nobody complained about the hit bubble in 22 because it didn't exist and now when people complain they're just bad at the game and need to get the right attributes and charge and hit the logo of the player to get some type of reaction. Hip to hip contact shouldn't cause collisions because despite that occurring for most hits in real life, in this game it only matters that your shoulders or arms make contact directly through the body.
I'm aware I'm putting words in your mouth but please correct me where you feel differently from what I'm saying so we can find common ground here. Thank you.
- TheUnusedCrayon3 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Aljo I take it you've never seen a moment where a hit gets thrown and the player with the puck moves a few feet as if just nudged by the player throwing the hit but with zero animation (puck just remains on their backhand or forehand) while the hitter who pushed him there gets taken out of position?
