I'm a sucker for punishment, but I somewhat enjoy the cat and mouse game of trying to shut down the latest cheese that 'top' players love to overuse.
I should probably seek therapy.

Bro....HOW? The way they play isn't even close to how hockey is played and is way too effective at beating real hockey strategy. This infuriates me because they are going out of their way to suck the fun out of a hockey game for real hockey fans. Should be bannable with video evidence IMHO.

I agree that the 'top' players simply cheese the mechanics to get the best outcome possible - but you can't blame them. It's a video game, after all. The enjoyment I get is shutting down plays that these players see tons of success with. You can see when they get sweaty and shook and I absolutely love watching these players crumble when faced with stiff defence.
I'm not saying I'm shutting everything down (I'm still only ranked in the top 1,200 in OVP). But, every so often I get matched up with a killer and I hold my own. Sometimes, I even squeak out a win. (Seeing +12 after a win in OVP is the absolute best) Watching these kids rage-quit after trying the same goal over and over and over, only to have me walk in and make it 1-0... I feel like every time that happens, an angel gets their wings.
Anyway, wanted to add another GIF to this thread. I was able to retain possession of this puck through the first two hits by simply timing a left stick movement to be the opposite direction of where the hit is coming from. On the last hit, I actually just let off the left stick and didn't send any inputs to my player, and I walk away scott free with the puck. I could definitely understand why my opponent was frustrated:

All it is is simple tuning. Clearly the threshold for stumble animations is too low tuning wise so players aren't stumbling. I can adjust these settings super easily on gameplay sliders and there's zero issues with hitting.
But we will see in the next patch if they care. I have my doubts as I feel as if they've mailed it in for the year but it'd be a real nice surprise if they actually did something. - BOSTONRANGER86D3 years agoSeasoned Traveler@KidShowtime1867 I can’t wait for their response to this gif…..

Thanks for being responsive to these clips. It entices me and others to keep capturing and posting them in the hopes the issues are ironed out!
