Hitting definitely feels more viable after the patch

Nothing changed in regards to hitting with the patch.
- KlariskraysNHL3 years agoHero@EA_Aljo At times i wish they could just patch a change into the game that is easy to notice and then write the opposite effect of it just to see if people saying it was nerfed too much.

It would be a fun experiment, but one we wouldn't do. If we did, it still wouldn't stop the comments that something was changed that wasn't. I've seen them numerous times about how the first couple of weeks were great and then we made a change and now gameplay is ruined. Without even releasing an update. It usually takes a couple of weeks for people to adapt to the new game so it can seem like something changed.

bubble for ladies

At the very beginning you can see the names of one attacking line but not of the others. Why is the box on the left missing in NHL 23 Xbox Series x? Is there anything I can do about it, or can it be turned off entirely?

Too many times, laying a hit on one of the ladies, it's clear as day something has been done to ensure they aren't thrown around the ice all game. I dunno if their attributes are manipulated, or if sliders are diff for the ladies or something but I've seen so many hit bubbles and animation glitches keeping the women from being laid out. I even posted one in this thread I think, but it never got attention.
The hitting has clearly been manipulated so that the women don't spend half the game laid out on the ice or something. Anyone else noticed this, or am I just goin crazy in my old age 😂

I'd love to have a serious discussion with EA on this. @EA_Aljo , Care to weigh in on this? Is this something that was done intentionally, or is it another bug? Either way, it's seriously annoying and also wrong on so many levels. I thought we wanted equality?

So, here we have had a thread of a ridiculous amount of video evidence to beg EA Sports to make adjustments to more consistent gameplay.
Instead it's the same old "Thanks, we will send this to the development team" and never heard back about what is being done. Not even an acknowledgment from the development team on a plan on what they're going to do about it.
What is the point anymore? This has been an issue for nearly a decade and it's the same response every time as I mentioned above.
All we are asking for is more consistency not perfection.

Part of me thinks the bubble is there by design and not a bug. X-Factors need to have an obvious effect or else consumers won't believe they have an impact. I think the 'bubble' is there on purpose to give users who use certain x-factors the feeling that it's worth it.
Once you start considering how HUT's gameplay is already a clown show due to OP attributes, synergies, etc - the 'bubble' is more prominent in that mode and again, likely by design.
For every player like us who sees it as unrealistic and causing an imbalance to the game, there are 100 HUT bunnies who are howling like hyenas on their twitch streams every time they shrug off a hit (due to the bubble) to score the same tired top shelf goal with their boosted 90-OVR 4th line thinking they're the best players that ever played this game.

It doesn't matter how many videos get uploaded or not. As long as ea keeps making money from HUT pack purchases, nothing will change.
Have a nice day!

I have acknowledged the team knows about this. Chances are good that if something changes, it won't be until a future game. You haven't heard back because I haven't had anything I can share on this. I can assure you the dev team knows about these reports.
- TheUnusedCrayon3 years agoSeasoned Ace@EA_Aljo I feel bad for ya, bud.
It's gonna be a rough go for this year because people will still complain. But when nobody buys the next game because they don't want to be put through this abusive cycle of a company taking their money and saying "to hell with it", there will be less people to complain, so that's good!
It is official that this game is on life support because people can tolerate misguided care, but people won't tolerate a lack of care at all.
Now EA has to nail NHL 24. They have to get it right and have no bugs because people know those aren't gonna get fixed for that game either.
The pressure on the devs now is absolutely wild. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

The pressure on the devs now is absolutely wild. This really isn't true. The game isn't on life support and we're not just brushing off these reports. You all want answers. I absolutely get that and wish I had them for you. Various issues are being investigated, but I can't guarantee they will be resolved with 23. Which is why I'm trying to set the expectation that it's possible some things will have to wait for a future game.

@EA_Aljo
Is there a 'conscious purpose' on why the so called 'hit bubble' exist?
Or, why is it there, does it go under the term, 'various issues' ..? - EA_Aljo3 years ago

There is no hit bubble, but this is being investigated.
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo
Then what exactly is being investigated?
If it's not that 'thing' we here on the board namned as a 'hit bubble' 'problem'. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

Hitting in general. I'm sorry, but I don't have any other details on this.
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo
Cool.
Hope the investigation will lead to a better hitting and a better game.
Definitely not a bad thing to look closer on this one.

I've been saying this for years, and every year it seems less and less people are playing online. EA is slowly but surely just killing off this franchise little by little. I have to assume it's on purpose at this point because there is no way that a billion dollar corporation is this bad with their games unless they just don't care. Perfect example and even though it's just a small thing when you come to these forums they still have NHL 20s picture up. That's a game from 3 years ago it takes 2 seconds to change that image. This is just a small sample of the laziness that has come in the last five or six years with this company.
If you can't even take the time after 3 years to change a little image to represent the current Year's title that doesn't speak well for the entire company. Every year it is also the same cyclical crap we are told to provide videos we give videos and nothing happens. We are told it might have to wait till the future. The future comes the same things we complained about are still broken, and in fact it is clearly apparent have never even been touched. We all get on the forums and complain about said issue for the second year in a row and are given excuses on why it's too hard to fix in one year and that hopefully next year if you buy our game again it will be fixed.
This is their little grift on us. Promise things will be better if you just buy next year's title only to pull the same bait and switch crap and then have the same customers get more upset at you because they went through this past 2 years prior. I've been on here long enough to see so many people just give up and stop caring and stop coming and stop playing because of the same exact cycle that has been going on for near a decade now it's inexcusable, lazy and for a company that wants their customers to spend money you really should be thanking us that we're still around than being upset that we are extremely frustrated and over your crap after this past 5 years of your releases and lack of fixes.

The pressure on the devs now is absolutely wild. This is my biggest issue with this company and franchise anymore. If it doesn't get fixed right away it could be 2 to 3 years before it ever gets fixed, if it ever does. Most things we seem to get a Band-Aid fix that everybody finds a workaround for within a week and then it's never touched or heard about again. That's the life cycle of this game and it hasn't gotten better only worse

Can you guarantee that these issues will be resolved by the time NHL 24 comes along? Because some of them have been in the game for 3 to 4 years now and it's ridiculous. If you can't fix some of these things just be honest and tell us and people would probably get less upset with you guys for the transparency.
If they do fix or adjust the... roundish area in which physics don't seem to correctly apply... I would be amazed if it was this year. I've mentioned this before but around when the dev team went silent on the forums they seem to have made the decision not to focus on changing things up after release.
As for the game "dying" etc. You clearly aren't around very many hut players. They drop enough money to still make this game very profitable even if it used stick figure wire models and hand drawn cover art so there isn't much external pressure to have a "better game".
So long as people keep the game very profitable each year with sales and hut purchases you're telling EA that you must be satisfied and thus no need to change the statis quo.
