That explains a few things about the matchmaking and the bad connection honestly. I usually get it when it takes longer to match. It’s hiccuping more than anything, like I jump from place to place on the ice. It’s not always, but it’s enough that I usually end up costing a goal cause my defense ends up out of place or I turn over the puck. It’s annoying. I assume this is based on having to have latency match to your opponent?
As for the auto slashing penalty, I can tell you it’s anytime you try a wrist or back hand shot and anyone is close. Since there’s no way to stop the shot if the puck comes off the stick (skill stick stops the shot attempt, and hence the inadvertent stick lift). The best way I see to fix this is just reassign stick lift to a different button. Maybe pass that along, just a thought on what might be an easier fix than trying to rewrite animation behavior.
As far as using skill stick, it might help if we could reassign the buttons. I know it seems a silly change, but my biggest problem is actually where the pass button is.
Are you getting this lag in every mode or just Online Versus?
It would be good if we had the ability to customize the button layout. You can do this at the console level, but that would affect every game and not just NHL. Skill stick felt weird at first for me as well, but once I got used to it, I couldn't imagine going back to the old controls.

Just online versus. I’m not sure if it’s a syncing issue, but I’ve noticed it’s sometimes (not always) fixed by pausing the game. But that eats my pause to fix it, and doesn’t always work. Pausing does, most of the time, cause the syncing circle to show in the top right corner.
Not sure if the pause fix is related, but I’ve noticed when other players pause the game, they move much faster like maybe they were having the same issue and it fixed it for them.

Online versus games don't take place on our servers. Either you or your opponent are the host. So, if one of you has a bad connection, both will feel it. Are you playing on a wireless connection by chance?

let me ask, it's always been interesting. Who is the host of the game? who invited or who is at home?
I often play tournament games, is there a need to change at home / away or is it better to re-invite for a fair game?
how is the delay organized for who is the host?
thanks
