Poke and hit the puck and then I’ll do it again and then we start yelling because we had 4 or 5 times where we thought the puck should’ve been jarred loose.. and then the next game everything works fine.. I posted this on an eashl Facebook forum but I guess this never happens to you? I’m just saying why would a player get rewarded for skating into traffic or leaving the puck exposed.. make them earn it a bit more. I’m very precise on my timing and I have a 94 stick check and 93 defensive awareness. I Angle correctly and maintain a good gap but sometimes I throw my hands in the air because I feel like my teammate or I made the right play or were in the right position and then we are like “how the heck did he get it back so many times” I guess you’ve had better luck than I or maybe it’s my connection or maybe I need to switch to a defense D build.
I’m very successful too but when you start playing those L2, hold x, and dipsy doodle teams I feel like it should be easier to jar the puck loose on a well timed poke check and easier for the D to pick to the puck. Maybe the recovery time and puck control is too high..
I’m just brainstorming ideas and maybe I’m wrong maybe I’m halfway right.. definitely wish there would be more people jumping in on the conversation
I've experienced the same issue. I'm just saying that when you get a better poke on the puck, your chances of it being further dislodged are a lot higher. It's also better on your first poke. If you're spamming it, which I'm guilty of myself sometimes, the subsequent pokes aren't aimed as well. I definitely get the frustration and I'd like to see it be harder to regain control, but it really just comes down to ratings and positioning. Forwards tend to have high puck control ratings so recovering it is easier than defenders. Magnetic and Quick Pick are abilities that can help with pick ups. I use a PMD build, but don't use those abilities. Like I said, I've experienced this as well, but it's not happening every time. If I'm not getting a good poke on them, I can get my body in the way and use incidental contact to knock it loose.
I think puck control in general could be lowered. Hopefully, we'll see changes to this, but in the meantime, you can raise your chances of disrupting the play with well-timed pokes and good defensive play.
