will we get this year a new NHL for pc on steam please!
This was talked about not too long ago and there is a thread about it on the 1st page 😀
Maybe you will find more INFO there…
Releasing NHL on PC would open the game up to a much larger audience. There are millions of PC gamers worldwide who may not own consoles but would love to experience the thrill of playing NHL on their computers.
It's essential to consider that some PC gamers may indeed face financial limitations and might not be able to afford a gaming console on top of their existing PC setup. In such cases, developers and gaming companies should take steps to ensure that players who choose to play NHL on PC are not left at a disadvantage.- EA_Aljo2 years ago

Hi there, @HGAudhwfu
I merged your thread with the already existing thread on this issue. Thanks!
This was supposed to be a very special year. Thirty years ago, in October '93, the first version of NHL Hockey appeared on PC. Despite the fact that by that time several hockey simulators had already been released on the PC, this one was special. So special, in fact, that people still organize championships to this day, in that slightly tweaked version. And this year, the year of the thirtieth anniversary of the release of that wonderful game, no one will even bring you a remake of that old hockey, although it appeared on consoles in 2006, and, if I’m not mistaken, in 2020. Not even try to mention a last generation version.
There was a faint hope. Hope, loosely based on the fact that Microsoft decided to make more games for PC. The fact that Sony began to transfer their exclusives to PC too, realizing what an important market this is. Despite the fact that some important console exclusives have also made their way to PC in just the last couple of years. This is not about EA Sports. They have their own idol. Not their users.
The last versions of their PC hockey games were console conversions. They never released a single version for widescreen monitors. This was done by fans for the 2004 and 2009 versions (I actually did it for 2006 as well). Updating the rosters was almost never relevant. But the fans were able to fix that too. It could have been a great move to share the source code of legacy games, like the successful ID Software or Raven Software did. And now their Doom and Hexen still shine with effects that were impossible at the time of the development of these games. Here's what the fans can do. Then it would be possible to correct both the unjustified aggression in 2005, and the ridiculous falls of goalkeepers in 2006 ... But this is also not about EA Sports. They still sell NHL 2003, which is unplayable on systems with newer browsers because it's based on the old IE. Or we see the maximum resolution in the configuration up to 1600x1200, which cannot be run. And fans love EA back - the post “Big Fan of EA NHL? Share your knowledge with the community as a Champion!” contains 0 replies.
There was hope. But there won't be a PC version. And it won't be a special year for NHL fans on PC. Only a dim flash of new rosters made by fans for the NHL 2004 and 2009 will somehow get all amateurs closer to the hockey league they love. Perhaps again some hysterical will write, as it happens every year: "If they do not release a PC version, I will do something!". All they do afterwards is buy a console, and in a week, having forgotten about their terrible threats, they flood the forums with tears of admiration.
For me, most likely, the hope is gone completely. For me, this year is a diagnosis that gives little hope... And I am not going to buy a console for the sake of one game. Even if I lose the last battle of my life, what difference does it make if I play it on console or not? In fact, I've stopped buying any EA games since 2009. Even very interesting Star Wars projects. It seems to me that if everyone did the same for at least a year, then EA can feel it, and something will change. There is little hope, but it is better than doing nothing or just writing in vain.
Why am I writing this post? I want to thank the creators of the first PC version of NHL Hockey. Guys, it was something! You opened us a great world! And in 1995 you only improved it all. Happy thirty years to you!
Happy 30th birthday to all NHL Hockey PC fans! To everyone who has continued to play all these years and contributed their time and energy into the mystery of the NHL world.
Nothing for you, EA.
That's all, admin. You can cut now...

Went to register for the NHL playtest but there was no option for PC, how do we signup if we would like to test on PC?
i really want nhl to come to pc please ea i used to buy every nhl until i moved onto pc in 2016
- never. EA will not release nhl 24 on PC. Don't worry, sooner or later it will happen. For example, my friends sold their consoles because they are already adults, someone bought a steam deck, laptop, PC, asus ROG ally. They just don't have time to get the console out of the closet every time to launch the NHL. The fewer NHL console players there are, the faster the PC version will be released. In the meantime, you can play the fun tape 2 tape, or the ps3 emulator
No offense but yall are luckey you still get a hockey game on consoles. The other titles sell more copies day 1 than nhl does the whole year. Game.doesnt sell well on consoles it will sell sigifigantly less like madden and fifa do on pc. but they still sell more on pc than nhl does on console

@Forizeal this is irrelevant. If you look back in the thread I had a response debunking this line of thinking. EA already 100x their production costs solely through ultimate team. When you look at how much they make combined across all platforms its probably even more. Lazy take.
