- SnizzBarDizz2oh2 years agoNew Veteran@TBU_Mister0big i would buy the game on both ps5 and PC and i'm not even one of the 34,000 that bought tape to tape.
thats what i am saying, if they can port the game to pc they will increase their sale and customer counts by alot.
Hey!
like I wrote before, the fanbase to get nhl for pc is very big even outside the US. Usually the game release to console is in September/October, a big argument from EA is that a pc version won’t be possible due to the time it will take away from the making of the console version. So why don’t release the pc version in lets say February instead?
to prove both to EA and to the pc players, why don’t release a demo version for free or for a small amount of money on steam. To see if people are buying it, if they don’t buy don’t do a full version, but if they do you will see how many pc players there actually are out there. It doesn’t need to be a big demo, just two teams In a quick play.
I wouldn’t hurt you to try, would it?
or team up with another developer to do the pc version.
I really hoping for an NHL game to pc..
i just want to point out this is the top post on the nhl forums right now. maybe there is something to it?
Hey Rammer and crew, oh look, people still want NHL on PC, weird. Still dont understand how the multibillion dollar EA cant do it. Wont spend a penny across the entire EA catalog till we get NHL, it's the ONLY game I care for from yall and its held back for lack of wanting to be better by yall.
I used to buy the NHL series every year, it was the main game I played. Every other game I played was on PC. Paying for Xbox live for one game on an aging console quickly became not worth it. Haven't bought NHL since maybe 2018 and won't buy another NHL game or EA product until there is NHL on PC. Seems I'll be waiting for years to come
- @SnizzBarDizz2oh well, I can officially say it will NOT be on PC this year, which is a crying shame.

If there was a huge demand for the game on PC, a money-hungry company like EA would do it.
I understand some of you may surround yourself with like-minded gamers who spend time playing great games on PC and who share your passion for a PC version of the NHL game, but that echo chamber is giving you a skewed perspective of the actual demand for this version of the game.
I'm not denying that a PC version would be great, especially if it came with the modding capabilities we had in the previous PC releases. But for all the crap we give EA, they are a multi-billion dollar corporation who understands their market well. If there was an opportunity to cash-in on the PC, it would be happening.
- @KidShowtime1867 i mean is it to much to expect? is it really that hard to make a pc game? do you really believe that ea is not capable of making an nhl pc game? also posts like these are to show that there is a demand for a pc version of the game. how else could it get done? we cant sit back and let ea decide what is good for us otherwise we would all be broke and have every hut, mut, fut item there is.
if you are saying there is not enough people in the world who would buy a copy of nhl to justify making a hockey game, i mean they make one already so they have to make enough to justify making it every year.
if they just let the playstation or xbox copy play on pc via psn or xbox app and ea pass that would be great for me. buggy or not it would get bought and played. Here's the deal, it's not an issue of monetary gain. The dev time and whatnot is negligible to add in a PC version of the game. They are scared of being held to a higher standard for a game. Look at Battle Bit remastered and how it decimated the recent battlefield games with only a 3 man dev team. Look at all the AAA devs freaking out over Baldur's Gate 3 because they think gamers will come to expect that as the gold standard for what a game should be. Rightfully so games should be as solid and polished as something like BG3.
So to say they are not afraid of losing money is incorrect. They do fear losing money but the reasoning is where many seem to be mistaken. They fear losing money due to being held to a higher standard and being criticized more heavily if they release the game on PC. Console gamers are more likely to be the "It is what it is" mindset. Where Pc gamers will take a game and mod it up to be something they can enjoy. Take for example Escape from Tarkov, a game with zero mod tools and a dev team that would rather people not mod their game at all. However it has a huge modding scene. That is why they won't make a PC release, they don't want to have to put forth the effort to make something spectacular when they can make easy money making something mediocre year after year.
