Absolutely no reason to hold a 35ms connection, with 1440ms spikes. When nothing else - game, phone, computer, TV, etc., experiences ANY kind of stutter/lag. At all. Ever. It is ONLY the NHL series that does this. Even fully active FPS games work flawlessly on my connection. So MY network IS NOT the problem.
We're not noticing any issues on our end currently, but will surely keep monitoring them. If you want to go through any troubleshooting, please let me know.
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo Sorry - but I could literally take a 9hour video of all of the WoC connection issues, and post it directly - but it wouldn't change anything, as I already know I would get the laundry list of EAs "fixes" - as I suffered a CE-34878-0 error last year, and was made, by EA support, to reinitiate my system, which was completely unnecessary.
It was a simple fix - delete saved data, and reparse.
Needless to say, even if I projected said video on the side of the Empire State building, 30 million people would see it, and upvote it as being correct and a shared experience, but not see an acknowledgement from EA in any way to address what is being visually presented.
I am NOT the first to post these issues, nor will I be the last. This is a problem, that only EA can address. But, will they? Or are we simply resigned to suffer in quiet indignity, vowing to never spend another dollar in support of EA?
Unfortunately, that is the base choice we are left with. And it leaves a VERY bad taste in the mouth. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

I'm not saying there's nothing on our end causing this. We haven't found anything so far. It also would be a lot easier to resolve if we had more reports of this. The majority of players are able to connect without issue. Case in point, my own club had no problem playing a few games last night. We connected every time. We're definitely aware this isn't the case for everyone though and should we find a way to reproduce this, it'll be looked in to further. If you have any video though, feel free to submit it and I'll pass it on to the team.
- 3 years ago@EA_Aljo This may be an inane question, but does your PS/XB account hold any of your EA credentials? Perhaps that in itself is what shields you from the experiences the rest of us deal with daily.
I'd love it if you were to try a random console from that kid down the block, and then report back...
Because I don't post arbitrarily. And I have no reason to embellish any claims whatsoever.
It would be AWESOME to get some kind of acknowledgement!
Unfortunately, the end result for just about every thread in this forum is "closed - either the answer was provided" (which sorry, but most aren't even addressed), "closed - not constructive", or just warned/banned.
Whether it is justified or not, I have yet to see a direct report that is addressed as ongoing, or under investigation on EAs part. Because, the amount of proof that is available to the parent company that isn't being directly ascertained is astounding.
Nothing rude or inflammatory about that, either. Just 100% as I (and quite a few others) see it. - EA_Aljo3 years ago

We don't have the ability to add/remove lag from accounts. I play on my personal account that is in no way linked to any EA accounts. Regardless, connects are dependent on many different variables, but none have remotely anything to do with someone being an EA employee. We all play on the same servers, but our own connections will vary based on equipment, bandwidth, ISP, region, etc.
Conversations are locked when they break the rules, get off topic or become just ranting without saying anything constructive. The majority of conversations are left open for discussion.

So switching to a hotspot made no change, it did work ok for a few days, however it's back down and has been down for weeks, can't find games with a 1:0 minute search time. It appears 23's matchmaking is faulty, never had this problem with any other years game dating back to 09. In addition, get quite a few random disconnects, again never happened before. When I do get in a game, I have no lag, in fact hardly ever have lag with NHL, but if I can't find game it's kind of irrelevant.

If you switch to a hotspot again, does it work for a bit and then return to not finding a match? Also, what is your NAT setting? You can find this by testing the connection in your console's network settings.

Almost year around but CHEL problem's ( goalies, matchmaking, connection etc etc etc ) NOT SOLVED,not a thing....WHY, WHY ???

No, it doesn't make a difference either way currently, my NAT type is open. Tried both hotspot and wired, still can't find a game. NHL 22 I can get a game or at least a lobby immediately.

Does this happen in both club and drop ins?
Also, try using alternate DNS settings with these steps:
- From the Xbox home screen, go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings > DNS settings > Manual. (If Settings doesn't appear on the home screen, select My Games & Apps, then Settings).
- Enter the Primary DNS as "208.67.222.222" and the Secondary DNS as "208.67.220.220".
- If that doesn't help, try using the google DNS servers which are: primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

No change with those DNS changes, still unable to find CHEL lobby. Not sure on club, most my players haven't been on lately so I've been stuck in CHEL or lack there of.

Is there any kind of a firewall in place with your router? Also, could you send me a private message with your gamertag/PSN ID? I'll see if we can look in to this being account related.

I doubt there's any firewall issue as I can get a versus lobby in 23 and chel in 22, all other games are fine..

Any news on this? I found three games yesterday out of dozens of tries, nothing today, I've tried dozens of times with low avg search times and it keeps timing out and can't find games. Never before have I had this problem, it's just with 23.

Apologies for the late response. I've been away, but am here for a bit today.
I'd like you to check the version number of NHL 23. To find this, go to the NHL 23 tile on your Xbox. Hit the Menu button. It's the small one to the lower right of the Guide button with the 3 horizontal lines on it. Then, go to Manage game & add ons. You should see the version number here. It needs to be 1.6. This is beyond frustrating, two days no CHEL lobby. 1:00 search times and nothing, Probably found 5 games in a week and that's being generous

Thanks for checking. Just to be clear, you have been able to find games, but it's rare? Also, please let me know the following:
- Mode(s) you're searching in
- Is crossplay enabled?
- Time of day you normally search.

Today is the forth day and no chel lobbies show up, I think I got 3 games last week, out of dozens of attempts, rare is an understatement,
Mostly CHEL 3's, but I do try 6's just so I can play but still nothing in 6's. Versus appears fine, I'm just not a versus player.
Cross play is enabled, I have tried searching with it on or off and that didn't make a difference.
I'm a grave yard player always have been, usually between 1:00am and 6:00 am. I have tried searching in the day and still the same results, I don't play during the day, but I wanted to try and see if it made a difference, still nothing.Thanks

I did find one game after trying for literally an hour, with 1-2 min search times, after that tried for another 12 attempts and nothing. Did also here people in the lobby saying "finally a game", so I can't be the only one.
I have to think it has something to do with cross platform, never had this problem since 09 and the first year cross platform is introduced, no lobbies. I have spent close to two hours and found one lobby..

This morning population was normal, which I've never seen, search time .51 seconds and nothing at 5 attempts. If you can check with someone on this that would be great, at some point I need to stop wasting my time.
Not sure what happened this year, but it's beyond frustrating.

If they're not going to fix it, look at it or give me solutions just let me know and I will shelve it. This has been two weeks plus and maybe 5 lobbies and that's being generous, again low search times and nothing.
As a loyal customer what should I do? Stop buying it? Get the thought of playing NHL out of my mind because I can't play the game as advertised? You tell me.

You mentioned thinking this has to do with crossplay. Have you tried turning that off to see if it makes a difference?
