Does this happen in both club and drop ins?
Also, try using alternate DNS settings with these steps:
- From the Xbox home screen, go to Settings > Network > Advanced settings > DNS settings > Manual. (If Settings doesn't appear on the home screen, select My Games & Apps, then Settings).
- Enter the Primary DNS as "208.67.222.222" and the Secondary DNS as "208.67.220.220".
- If that doesn't help, try using the google DNS servers which are: primary alt number 8.8.8.8 - secondary alt number 8.8.4.4.

No change with those DNS changes, still unable to find CHEL lobby. Not sure on club, most my players haven't been on lately so I've been stuck in CHEL or lack there of.

Is there any kind of a firewall in place with your router? Also, could you send me a private message with your gamertag/PSN ID? I'll see if we can look in to this being account related.

I doubt there's any firewall issue as I can get a versus lobby in 23 and chel in 22, all other games are fine..

Any news on this? I found three games yesterday out of dozens of tries, nothing today, I've tried dozens of times with low avg search times and it keeps timing out and can't find games. Never before have I had this problem, it's just with 23.

Apologies for the late response. I've been away, but am here for a bit today.
I'd like you to check the version number of NHL 23. To find this, go to the NHL 23 tile on your Xbox. Hit the Menu button. It's the small one to the lower right of the Guide button with the 3 horizontal lines on it. Then, go to Manage game & add ons. You should see the version number here. It needs to be 1.6. This is beyond frustrating, two days no CHEL lobby. 1:00 search times and nothing, Probably found 5 games in a week and that's being generous

Thanks for checking. Just to be clear, you have been able to find games, but it's rare? Also, please let me know the following:
- Mode(s) you're searching in
- Is crossplay enabled?
- Time of day you normally search.

Today is the forth day and no chel lobbies show up, I think I got 3 games last week, out of dozens of attempts, rare is an understatement,
Mostly CHEL 3's, but I do try 6's just so I can play but still nothing in 6's. Versus appears fine, I'm just not a versus player.
Cross play is enabled, I have tried searching with it on or off and that didn't make a difference.
I'm a grave yard player always have been, usually between 1:00am and 6:00 am. I have tried searching in the day and still the same results, I don't play during the day, but I wanted to try and see if it made a difference, still nothing.Thanks

I did find one game after trying for literally an hour, with 1-2 min search times, after that tried for another 12 attempts and nothing. Did also here people in the lobby saying "finally a game", so I can't be the only one.
I have to think it has something to do with cross platform, never had this problem since 09 and the first year cross platform is introduced, no lobbies. I have spent close to two hours and found one lobby..

This morning population was normal, which I've never seen, search time .51 seconds and nothing at 5 attempts. If you can check with someone on this that would be great, at some point I need to stop wasting my time.
Not sure what happened this year, but it's beyond frustrating.

If they're not going to fix it, look at it or give me solutions just let me know and I will shelve it. This has been two weeks plus and maybe 5 lobbies and that's being generous, again low search times and nothing.
As a loyal customer what should I do? Stop buying it? Get the thought of playing NHL out of my mind because I can't play the game as advertised? You tell me.

You mentioned thinking this has to do with crossplay. Have you tried turning that off to see if it makes a difference?

Twice in this previous conversations I mentioned I have tried with it on and off, makes no difference. The crossplay statement I made was just a guess, seems awfully coincidental that the first year it's introduced players can't find lobbies. It may have nothing to do with it, but something's wrong, I have never had this problem prior to 23.

Apologies for that. I've been away most of the last couple of weeks and didn't go back through this thread. That's on me.
I'll relay these details to the team. Where are you located? If you're in a remote area or one where we have a smaller playerbase, it's going to be harder to find matches.

In the past I would have players from all over the US in my lobbies, is that not the case now when you say location matters? Again, never had the problem before, when I couldn't find a 23 game I could in 22, I find it hard to believe more people would be playing 22 than 23 if location mattered.
When I hear players in the lobby say " omg finally a game", that tells me this problem is happening for other players.
Also, If I can get a versus game and that's only searching for 1 player, how me searching for a 3v3 or 6v6 lobby not find anything? The versus player I just played was from the UK, so obviously the search pattern is huge.

What ping rule are you using for matchmaking? Is it set to Relaxed or best game location?

It is set to best game location, I tried both relaxed and best location, I tried twice and still nothing.
Something is wrong, this should not be happening.

Three attempts this morning, all with a 1:00 search times or less and no games found. Tried a few times in the daytime yesterday, same result, zero games.

I've been able to get into games Fairly quickly, I start selecting W as opposed to RW or LW, then relaxed my best location. But search time have been better imo.

Good call out. Picking either Forward or Defense should give you more options rather than picking a specific position.

We've been looking in to this, but still need some more data. Can you set your matchmaking to relaxed and keep searching for games over the next few days? We'll check your results next week and can investigate this more thoroughly then. Thanks!
