@volcano62 Just going off of bassmanpc and on your reply as well,
NHL 24 in my opinion is not a bad game at all, once you take the time to really adjust the sliders and the settings the experience is very satisfying. If you put the work into it the results will show how much the gameplay changes and feels like a better simulation style hockey experience.
Online is a complete different story, but this has been issues in all sports for so long, I have seen so many different rage videos from madden to fifa to mlb the show with each saying how the users find ways to always use advantages.
Going off your good points I agree presentation needs to be there 100 percent, this is a sports game atmosphere is a huge part of the game. The issue the occurs is the online guys just want to hit x/a as fast as possible so the offline players suffer because of it.

Hitting is great(skill stick) timing is key , total control needs big time adjustments on the hitting and dekes its way to easy.

I like the new celebrations, they should keep the old celebrations in and never had taken them out because players enjoy them and gives variety.
I've found if you hold the dump button down for about 5 seconds it goes down the ice as it did in 23 , it does not work it you just flip it quickly. I like it because it feels more like the pressure situation.
I think if ea took a year off it would definitely be better . The problem is it would not return, we would not see the NHL series make a come back and us hockey fan would not have a hockey game and in all honesty I'm not sure how people would feel about that in the beginning. But as time went by and a new gen console came around and you saw nba and nfl and mlb and no NHL I think we would all really be bummed out , I truly believe if this game goes away for a year it'll be just like nba live series.
