Hitting is allowed in Threes. What is happening when you try to hit? The mechanics for it changed also. You need to pull down on the right stick and then flick up when making contact to throw the hit.
Try Exiting out of NHL 24. Completely close it out and load back in to it. Let me know if you still can't choose a position. Also, which console version of the game are you playing?
The newest Xbox version. Also, I closed out 2 separate times and logged back in to no avail. My brother has the same issue, also the new Xbox. We also cleared the alternate MAC address to no avail

Are you both gamesharing by chance?
Also, I'd like you to power cycle your equipment with the following steps: unplug your modem/router and console. After 2 minutes plug in the modem/router. Let them come back online completely. Then plug in your console and start it up. Let me know if that helps or not. Thanks!
