Checking vs missed checks

To me, the “penalty” on missing a check(which is all about timing and much harder now) vs the “penalty” of when you are checked needs to be fixed.  If you miss a check, especially a shoulder check your player is way out of position and slow to recover but if you connect and lay a good hard hit the player getting hit recovers much faster and sometimes bounces up as soon as they hit the ice.  How is this “realistic”?  I see so many comments from players and devs that emphasize “realistic hockey” but if a 6’7 260lbs guy player smashes a 5’8 170lbs player in REAL hockey, how many times is that smaller player bouncing up as if he hits a trampoline? I am not a fan of the new hitting system as i typically use a grinder/enforcer to play down low and in front of the net but i was willing to give it a go but these unbalanced scenarios are ridiculous.  I also feel the hitting animations were way better last few years vs the new ones.  Hip checking is also ridiculous but thats another discussion.
