EASHL Length of Game

Games take too long to play. EA FC clocks in at 15-17 minutes a game most while EASHL games take anywhere between 20-40 minutes to play. Celebrations need to be way faster. It's 10 seconds between a whistle and the next puck drop, I understand it gives time for line changes and strategy changes but 10 seconds 6 times is a minute and those add up fast. EA FC clubs barely show ANY replays. Literally only the goal when it happens but never puts in a save highlight or anything like that. It doesn't matter, replays simply extend game time. Take all replays out of the game especially the end of period highlights. Just show goal replays and maybe a penalty replay but that's it. Way too much unnecessary filler that keeps us from getting more games in. There is 100% a way to shorten games by 5-8 minutes from simply cutting the replays out and shortening the length between whistles.

Also the menus are incredibly slow trying to edit a build, game needs serious optimization.

  • @Behemothly Soccer goes faster because of a running clock without stoppages for the most part besides 1 half. I don't think it can be sped up anymore depending how the game goes with stoppages.
  • It definitely feels like games take a bit longer this year.  My club typically has a two hour window on nights when we play.  In previous years we would easily get five complete games  in.  Now we can't get more than four complete games done during the same time.

Nothing that's been changed ( tunnel of doom celebrations, etc ) seems like it should account for the extra time.  And we're not waiting longer than usual between matches.  But the games do seem to take longer.

Can't speak for others but I've always found games to be rather short, even with the new celebrations. We normally get a lead pretty quick and just joke around and try to get wacky with plays so maybe that time dilation stuff starts to kick in.

I can see dreading a guaranteed loss could make a game feel longer

@Behemothly, I completely disagree with the idea of cutting all replays. This is the beauty of any professional sport, that you can enjoy every goal from different angles. It's very good that in NHL 24 there are two replays, since sometimes the first camera angle doesn't show the goal very well, but the second replay does a better job.
The average length of a game in EASHL is about 25 minutes (if playing 3v3). Overall, it's a very good time - neither too long (like in Dota 2 - about an hour) nor too short (like rock-paper-scissors).
I also want to thank the developers for making replays of big hits and broken glass. However, there are some flaws with the latter - the camera angle is always such that you can see the hit, but you can't notice when the glass breaks. It would be great if they fix this in NHL 25.
