Let's discuss board play.
What we have had for the past 7+ years is really poor implemented board play.
I can't count how many times players glitch their stick through the boards and awkwardly turn on a dime away from the defense. You can't effectively hem a player into the boards unless it's timed and placed perfectly.
You shouldn't even be able to pull that off. You would easily lose possession of the puck the moment the puck makes contact with the boards. Especially, at the speeds players pull off the cheesy glitch.
Pressing a player into the boards has been the same problematic mechanic this game hasn't touched since I can't even remember.
Also, if your computer can poke check and hit. They can damn well pressure the puck carrier and press them into the boards. I'm sick of constantly chasing or sitting in the slot waiting for my opponent only to cheese far side.
It's incredibly infuriating that all players have to do to apply a power position is glitching their stick through the boards and pushing off. There's nothing you can do.
Where is the option to play the body and stop a player up? It's an actual defensive play where a defender stops the player up and hems them into the boards.
If you can apply all these silly new "total control" scheme. You can damn well implement better defensive mechanics.
