Downloaded the new patch and for the 3rd time this year, it has reset my EASHL created jerseys. There is so many things wrong with this game! I cant make other players on my club assistant captains, just gives me error codes.. EA for once in your life please release a patch that actually benefits the gaming community. Instead of focusing on things that really dont matter, like flex celebrations and whatnot, how about fixing the stick lifting that has been broken since NHL 23… it’s literally impossible to play the way hockey is supposed to be played, this game is far from realistic. No matter how high your stick checking and discipline is every time you make a poke check, you have to pray to God you didnt trip them ! You reward players with less skill at a tap of a button to try even the odds and they just abuse it! EA BE BETTER!!! We buy you game every year in hopes that the newest version will be everything that we hoped and deserve but you just take our money and give us a pile of garbage! Fix things for better gameplay for the love of baby jesus!!

@EA_Aljo Not related to the stick lifting but relating to the poke checking and general puck physics this year and a clear "nerfing" while not in puck possession....but this game is driving me absolutely bonkers.Last night I pinched to poke check a guy who was receiving a puck in an awkward and vulnerable position. I proceeded to poke through the puck, then his stick and puck proceeded to move straight through both my skate blades and he left on breakaway.I tried to take a video but was too slow so I have a garbage angle on my cell but that being said, unless you never play the game, i doubt anyone can dispute that my claim is true, video or not. This stuff happens nonstop and its completely ridiculous how much self doubt I have doing the most basic defensive plays.I dont mind getting burned if I made a mistake and did the wrong play...get outplayed...but in this game, 80% of the time, its not being outplayed, its being out-EAed.If your team doesnt want defense to be able to do anything, why not just remove them from the game and make the game fully 3v3 street style....is it a sim or is it not?

@EA_Aljo My guess is because the player base has shrunk.. no amount of videos or anything have resulted in change.. I mean how many times have you asked for videos for 1 of 2 things to happen.. either you defend the game and just say the defender should have used input "a" instead of input "b" when they were clearly in a position to use either (and having the advantage of never knowing what would happen of they DID select the other input) that gets old.. it's always on the defender in this game to play perfectly. Or you succumb to the fact there's an issue and you just say you'll let the development team know.. to which maybe it will get a patch (typically that doesn't work) or maybe they just won't fix it and we just say it's working as intended. I mean I just dunno of there's much of a point in pointing out anything. There are threads with TONS of fixes that need to be made and we either pretend they don't or just say "the game seems to be in a good place" it's wild..Tbh I've not tried to use slthe penalty button since 23. Just a button I'm too scared to press. Pokechecks are in a bad place. The aim at the feet is just incredibly bad.. the power of the poke.. sometimes the puck just stops completely.You keep saying you don't experience any of these problems when you play.. can you stream one night and play defense? You're quick to say what everyone is doing wrong and how you don't experience any of the problems that we are. I just want to see what you're doing.

Hi there, @achris2remember Try restarting NHL 24. Someone else reported a similar issue with jerseys, but restarting resolved it. As far as the stick lifting goes, can you get me a video of what you're experiencing? I use stick lifts frequently since they were addressed in a recent patch and haven't had any issues with them. That doesn't mean there are no issues though so it would be good to see how they're working for you. Thanks!

This is the core of this whole problem. There are lots of issues playing defense, and nothing seems to improve. Rather, it seems each year offense gets these new things, while defense keeps getting nerfed into being unplayable. We have to deal with minor mistakes causing consequences, while offense has very few of these issues.Also, your statement about not all pokes in real world hockey result in turnovers may be true, but you can't have it both ways. You can't claim realism for one mechanic, but completely abuse other real world hockey mechanics at the same time. I could easily say not every person in real world hockey has an issue clearing a puck on a dump. Not every player in real world hockey can perform the Michigan. It really feels like there are two views on offense and defense in this game. Offense gets all these crazy things that rarely happen in real world hockey, yet defense gets none, or very few, things that happen in real world hockey.This game should be as equally fun to play on defense as it is on offense. In my view, this is not the case, and I mainly play defense. We are backskating and can't poke check, but a forward can no look behind the back shoot, pass, and intercept/pickup pucks. I'm not surprised people are not providing as many videos. First, EA has put zero effort into helping capture videos in the game and second, there never seems to be any real significant changes. I think most people are frustrated and have given up. This forum used to be so much more lively than it is now.As an aside, I would also ask you stream or record a play session, unedited, so we can all see how you are using the mechanics of this game. I would like to see how you play this game since you say you are intimately aware of how this game works. Who knows, maybe we are all just playing the game wrong? Thanks!

It doesn’t matter, EA will continue to make games with horrible physics and get the same results. Nhl 24 is Nhl 23 with a different mask. Still cant stick lift or poke check against momentum even though they give us superstar abilities to help prevent it from happening but it still does. the truculence is back as a superstar ability when they told us its way over-powered but here we are.. new season same stuff a continuous cycle of horrible gameplay. Doesn’t matter how many videos you post of the evidence, they just dismiss your claim and dont even try to look into it. Us as players buy this game every year in hope that this game will get better but time after time we are let down.

It looks like you're holding the defensive skill stick. That's going to cause a trip if you connect with their skates.

In this clip letang bodies the guy in front, which dislodged him from the puck, letang goes to pick up the puck but fails because of the horrible physics… the player regained control then the puck goes into the corner and if you body him 100% a interference call, so the most logical thing is to stick lift. Letangs stick glitches through the guys body and ends up hooking him lol

Im not holding it, plus you cant trip a guy without the puck unless you dive at them… please dont dismiss it.. i executed it perfectly when my player pulled his stick in to have two hands on his stick he trips the other guy??!! Ive never seen this in all my years playing this game

Letang can't pick it up due to the player laying down in front of them.

In the first clip, the player that gets tripped gains possession. You can see their player indicator light up. It looks like DSS is still being held. Which, is why they were tripped.

You cannot trip a guy without the puck!!! Well in this game at least lol im about to load a video of me chasing guys without the puck with my stick out making contact with their skates… you cannot trip them lol

I showed you proof and you continue to act like its nothing. Whats the point of posting a video. There were numerous comments on my post agreeing with me because im not the only one. Im just asking for an update that actually benefits the gameplay to where you can play defense properly and be rewarded not penalized. The AI always trips or slashes someone more than ever. We need better puck pick ups, better defensive animations and less stupid things like the way your player looks or can celebrate. Please for the love of the game, make it better!

As you can see, he has the puck. Which is why he is tripped.

Frame by frame the stick is already made “contact” with the 2nd guy before he had the puck. The stick is literally through him at this point then he picks up the puck and the shaft not the stick blade trips him??!!

You could have x factor quick pick facing the pass and it goes through your stick and its a tap in for a goal, you have to be careful to stick your stick out or you’ll trip the guy standing still lol theres so many things wrong with this game and EA never fixes the real problems. Like i said numerous times before they only care about things that dont matter.
