That would be awful, if you had to jump a game just for 'a small (but veeery big) thing like that'. But I do get you.
Even though I think 24 will have some hockey soul we havent experience yet.
Not fair to screw it up on this... 🙄😫
Please remove this asap. If I'd known this in advance, I'd have kept playing NHL 23. With this thing, it feels like flushing $70 down the toilet. I think that even an intern could build an option to turn this off very very easily within a few minutes.

Can this be turned off yet?

It has not and chances are good it's going to be there at least for the remainder of NHL 24.
Thank you for your answer.
Please remember that the display on the ice surface is extremely disturbing. This has been mentioned several times and it seems that most players would prefer this visual obstacle to disappear. To say in December, after so many complaints, that it will stay like this all year round is more than customer-ignoring.

While it's been mentioned here and I've seen mention of it on Reddit, you have to keep in mind that there is a far larger audience playing the game. Personally, it's not distracting in the least. I appreciate that it's there as that spot is more visible. I can easily tell what the pressure is. It could be my camera though. I use the Zone view so it's smaller and not so in your face. At this point, I've also just gotten used to it and it hasn't impacted my play at all. I only mention this to point out that not everyone finds it to be annoying. Regardless, I'm all for a toggle to turn this off and hope that it happens.

We have boards that can light up bright red, why do we need to use the ice surface for this? You can literally put a loading bard on the boards (the widely advertised feature) to show the meter which would be a pretty tasteful was to do it, so why is the ice surface being used? Wild decision to say the least.

I don't think it's a wild decision. Especially when you watch hockey on TV and there's a logo in pretty much the same spot.

It's interesting when watching a real game but I think I'd prefer if it were a dynamic ticker on the boards. In any case, toggles/options are always a good thing to have

It's a superimposed ad and we hate that too. There normally isn't anything on the ice in that area.

And people don’t like it there either. Are devs just not allowed to look at the forums or something? How did EA get so far out of touch with this one? There is absolutely no reason to not have an option to turn it off other than the devs just not knowing how to do it (which I can believe) or EA simply does not care.

Wait until we start getting ads behind the glass that block the crowd since it was on TV so it must be like that down at the rink.
Edit, just taken today:
