@Jagavekov See that is how you view it. I view the exhaust engine as their way to try and combat ragging the puck. They are encouraging people to be in the offensive zone and working the puck around. Being on the Penalty Kill will feel probably even worse now showing true nature to how it would be in real hockey with them tiring and the offense getting better chances. You can't just hold onto the puck in the offensive zone to get the meter up you gotta cycle and get shots. Also note while the defense gets weaker the offense also gets a boost in stats. So you can't go around skill zoning on defense you actually have to attack and force plays. And your method doesn't work for WoC so this system takes care of all the modes.

I think, to @Jagavekov 's point, this can be accomplished without the need for an arcade-type meter being displayed on the ice/along the boards.
The U.I. is already in place to show your line's energy levels - why not just have that appear on-screen in the bottom right/left corner at points when their energy has decreased to dangerous levels?
As for combating ragging the puck, I don't think the video showcased players passing the puck and controlling it in their own zone for a period of time, which is what raggers do.
I read on you tube Tougie24 channel who has played the game and as expected they have not listening to the offline community about full presentation so now we know for sure they do not care one bit about us who complained several months about the condensed presentation it is all about online gaming.

The Intros are still short unfortunately. The philosophy is getting people into games as fast as possible. Which does suck for people like us who wants that extra immersion like we used to have.
- @nhluser About me is sadly, that EA Sports want focus only to online game modes and forget offline players. I understand, that online game modes are popular, but still there are players, who don't care online game modes. And these players EA Sports has forgot, when they are developing the game for players, who playing online game modes. For example on creation zone is lot off things, whom should update or fixed.
@nhluser you have got to be kidding me they are still short that is so frustrating. Maybe it’s because it’s a beta of the game but I know the minute presentation stuff comes out I will petition for the presentation mode to come back no questions asked.
