- RatedxPGxEnigma3 years agoSeasoned Ace@RealKingTruth It's not a secret. Its pretty evident the top execs see this game as a packs/points for profit generator. Look at how Cam Weber treats EAFC & Madden in public. When was the last time he ever said anything about the NHL series?
- RatedxPGxEnigma3 years agoSeasoned Ace@dhwjr8682 EA already has this with game speed. The game would play so much better and realistic on 2/6 speed

The good part of the previous games is that the matchmaking was limited to 2 minutes once in the lobby whether or not it was full. Now it feel like it's unlimited and will only goes for the near perfect match up.
Us, the players had the power to start it by all getting ready up or not if it was reasonably filled or in the worse scenario poeples were leaving the matchmaking at the 2 minutes mark to start a new room (In the huge majority of time though the game was starting just fine).
It was also good to see the opposing side players joining in or not. Too many times I've seen broken room were empty position wouldnt fill up no matter what, it was easy to tell when it was best to simply back out and re-launch for a new room.....now, well, it's impossible to tell, we are left ''looking for opponent'' with absolutly no clues as if everything work as intended or not.
They also took away the possibility to switch build during the ''search for opponent'' which doesnt make much sense at all, players that choose ''skater'' only have the power to switch build (if needed) in the last 25 sec. Why, just why? That's an extremely high estimate. Half of those are multiple accounts

I just can't beleive this. In most case I'm launching the search with a friend with me and it hardly take more than 30sec to 1min to get 3-4 extra random teammates to join.
So it's reasonable to think there's also another group (probably multiple actually), somewhere, searching for a team in about the same time lapse. This is without taking into consideration any teams ''ready to go'' for a match-up to an opposing team on a waiting list for opponent. Which would greatly (normally) speed up the matchmaking.
There's no way that everytime I'm looking for teammates or an opposing team we're the only one doing so. At any reasonnable or peak hours it shouldnt not take much more than 2-3 minutes from the moment you click ''search'' and get ready for the first faceoff.
I don't know if the online players count is comparable to 23 or if it has drastically went down, but at 10pm est a saturday night, you should be almost instantly connected to an opposing team.
I'm going to look closely tonight and this weekend if anything changed in the wait time. Wait times have consistently gotten longer with less people playing.
Remove the Meters on players. Remove the Pressure icon on the ice, Return the Hybrid Settings.

Feels like the patch took a step backwards. Game somehow got worse. When's the 2nd patch come out @EA_Aljo Please see my feedback on NHL24 gameplay. I play the game every year. Playing with my friends against other online players in WoC is my favorite game mode. Thank you for your hard work to improve the game.
NHL24 gameplay changes are too extreme. Here’s why:1. Stick Checking- I expect the game to perform the job I command using the controller. The game is not doing such effectively for stick checking. when I hold RB down and direct my stick with the right joystick, my players stick is not pointed in that direction. Please update. If you want to make stick checking more difficult, reduce player speed while holding down these buttons instead. The stick checking controls functions were more accurate in NHL23.
2. Full Pressure Effect- The loss of energy on defense is too much. Tone it down. It’s not realistic.
3. Puck Dump- The puck dumps don’t travel far enough. I can’t lift the puck from the blue line to the back side boards anymore. It’s unrealistic. I shouldn’t have to hold down RB for that long. It takes too much time for the job to execute. Are developers trying to limit home run balls for breakouts from the D zone? I’d rather have the touch we had in NHL23, maybe a little less sensitive. The puck dump is too difficult and unrealistic in NHL24.
4. Hip Check- why is this the year of the hip check? I like how the cross check impact is down from last year but it’s not effective at all in NHL24. The success rate for hip check far outweighs the success rate for cross check. There needs to be more balance. There are hip checks everywhere.
5. Deking- it’s unreasonably more difficult to deke. Every time I push the right joystick to the backhand my player only uses one hand on the stick. The left-to-right and right-to-left deking is not as smooth and fluid as NHL23. This needs to change.
6. WOC Atmosphere- Let’s get more excitement and crowds into these games. Enhance the environment so we can play WOC on actual NHL arenas with team jerseys.
7. why did the D-pad controls change to set strategies? You cant scroll through the menu in the opposite direction. Aside from the selection, the navigation was better in NHL23.
The gameplay is most important and has taken a huge step back from NHL23 due to these issues. Please patch it up.
Thanks.
