@EA_Aljo @In my opinion, the biggest mistake gamers make is having too many quality players in their squad. For example, the ratings of drafted players on a team increase very slowly if you have too many elite players. The same applies to top 6, top 4 players. The same applies to computer-controlled teams. If you want the draft picks to grow quickly in ratings on your team, then you have to reduce the quality of the players in the squad. I always set the draft quality to low

@EA_Aljo @I think another problem is that the players' potential doesn't fall or rise quickly enough. Too many high-quality players in a team inhibits growth. Especially older players, I don't mean those over 33, maintain their potential for too long, even if they play poorly for years. Other criteria should also be taken into account when growing. You can't determine the growth of a defensive defender based on the scoring output. EA should work on this

It's actually logical too. If there are too many star players, the ratings cannot grow because there is not enough ice time overall for them. It's the same with every team in leagues that have too many high quality players.

If a player with top 6 potential over the age of 23 plays primarily on the third or fourth line over a certain period of time, say a year, then his potential would have to fall to top 9 or bottom 6. The same applies to middle 9 players when playing in top 6 positions. Then the potential must be corrected upwards accordingly.

Growth should NOT be determined solely by statistics. By that reasoning only people on the top 2 lines can improve. Tell that to the AVs or the Lightning

I had thought the same so I kept some plumbers on my minor league team. I saw no difference in growth 

For me the difference is big. For example, it happens that a top 6 medium player goes from 58 to 75-78 rating in one year without playing an NHL or AHL game with him. As I said, it depends on how many high-quality young players I have in my squad. If there are too many from one potential, they grow very slowly

Thanks, i will try letting them cool their jets in the minors for a year or two. I have been moving anyone 70 or above to the AHL

I had decided to try that with my number 3 overall pick Defenseman. I just looked and after 40 games he is up to 82 from 76. Woo Hoo!

When I first noticed the problem I went the exact wrong way. I was piling up as much young talent and draft picks as possible and my teams were good, but not getting much better
