Re: First HUT Game

@EA_Aljo as I've asked you for years now, what constitutes a "report"??

My poll is up to 44-10 at the 1hr mark... Where should I direct these fine people to file their reports?

Paging @DeliveryForKiki ... Didn't you have a 300page thread on this last year and a new one already started this year??

How many reports did you receive from there @EA_Aljo ??

    @dannythetemp

That thread was also full of multiple posts from the same people. It was 40 pages and not 300. Regardless, we'll continue to monitor for issues. Currently, the amount or reports we're seeing about this is far less than the overall player community. With the amount of variables that I mentioned, it's understandable some are going to experience input lag due to issues beyond our control. Our servers are only one part of what goes in to a good connection.

Here's how it worked last year (and some of the previous year):

1.) I explain the issue clearly. I provide video evidence

2.) I'm asked for more video evidence, or someone else is asked for video evidence after EA ignores my own. I provide more video evidence

3.) I posit theories about de-sync, the cloud, etc. I get the runaround

4.) I finally get the mod to acknowledge there is an issue. But he says that the EA developers can't replicate it......in Vancouver. Case closed!

    5.) I laugh maniacally

    ****

I don't even play HUT, but my delay would 100% be there too. It's in every mode. Even in offline modes. Without issue in other games.

@DeliveryForKikiAnd others see this and lose all incentive to report..... Thus "we're not seeing many reports"

I'll quote my post I just made from my NHL24 Technical Issues thread in here:

    NO DELAY:

In WoC free skate, I'm just doing left stick cuts back and forth. It looks normal. It feels normal. I don't even have elite edges on.

    DELAY:

I am doing the same left stick cuts in the same session. "Why is your guy stopping and turning the wrong way?" you might ask. Because this is how it manifests.

Sometimes, if I reset play, it will stop. But then just begin again. Usually, the first few minutes of loading the game work before there's some slight hitch in the frame rate. Then it's shot.

Now, this doesn't communicate how heavy (fat man lag) it feels. My right stick barely works. My sprint takes an extra second. It feels like packet loss on perfect hardware/connection. Online? Good lord. Forget about it. With the physics and delay, I might as well be in the Upside Down. Besides delay, the animations don't feel synced on my screen vs. the opponent's.

I could write a novel, but I already did last year. I just wanted this incontrovertible video evidence in here.

@EA_Aljo Again, what is a "report"?? Where can I direct the now 84 people who have voted Yes??

Reports are posts we see on Answers HQ, Reddit, X, etc. We also look for cases created with advisors. We have not been able to replicate input delay, but will most definitely watch out for it.
