User goalie inability to cover the puck

This is a video of me playing goalie in practice mode. The puck carrier fires a simple shot low, and I make the save. The problem is the covering of the puck. The rebound was a small, soft rebound off my pad and the puck stops pretty much right in front of me, but instead of simply covering the puck, my goalie misses with his blocker to the side of the puck and then misses wildly with his glove to the other side of the puck. My goalie then resets and gives me a different animation that finally covers the puck.
I make the save, so what's the big deal, right? Well, the opponent nearly grabbed the rebound and would've had a good chance at an easy dunk. If not that, the defender could've easily skated into me and knocked the puck in, or grabbed the puck close to the net and had it poked off his stick and into the net. All of that because my goalie can't come up with an easy puck cover on a simple shot.
This is the kind of stuff that makes playing goalie a chore. It's not the controls, and it's not the wide open nets created when the opponent makes good passing plays. It's goals going in because our goalies can't make simple plays even after we make a good save.
I'm not asking to save every wide open Ovechkin-esque clapper, I'm just asking for the game to let us make simple plays without being punished.

Similar play, but this time the opponent was able to pick up the puck. If this play was just a little bit to my goalie's right, that's a goal. A goal be cause the goalie can't simply cover the puck. I mean, come on...
