Video proof
Here's an example os superstar ignoring the ratings of the players. Guy with the puck is a Silver Ovr72. Guy chasing is a 99. https://imgur.com/a/VmVgxOF https://imgur.com/a/OVIRqm0

Mega. I am i agreement with you. Have had same issues with a 99 player on my team racing in from the blue line, and an 84 catches up to him. It just seems whenever you post an issue on this open forum. You are doubted, and asked to provide video. And when you do. Its still challenged. Can't win brother.
That's because if there is an issue, it's most likely with Niedermeyer and not every 99. If it were with every 99, or in every instance of a faster skater being slower, the myriad of videos we've gotten of this over the last several years would have already shown it. I always said we needed one video showing where there could be a legitimate issue and that never happened until now. Previously, it was easy to tell the in-game mechanics were working as intended. I'm stating how the mechanics work and what is contributing time the difference in speed in this clip. I'm not saying there is no issue here. Which is why it's being investigated.
Evidence is the issue. The video has shown that. Now to see where this investigation leads too. If its like the bad icing calls and terrible interference calls. Coupled with goalie infractions resulting in no goals. Then we know where it will result. As those issues I have cited even after video proof by other members, have still not been properly addressed and fixed. The intention of the community is not to derail the game but rather point out from time to time things that can be improved on. Hopefully the future will afford a better relationship between the games developers and the community.
What's weird to me is how Niedermayer still has what appears to be full stamina. I have some players with 99 stamina and even if i were to have hustled for that short amount of time it would be drained more.
Also this slider I have highlighted is the biggest effect in the whole game and I've always wondered why it's 5/10 and not a 10/10 when you would think you want attributes to matter 100%.
Additional Information about it: The effects attributes will have on your players.

That's what I was trying to point out earlier, but I believe this is the nature of Elite Edges maybe? I'm not entirely sure. As others have pointed out, Neidermayer appears to be showing the hustle animation yet the energy bar doesn't move. I'm wondering if Neidermayer actually had no/low energy but the energy bar itself was bugged?

This is a good point! I didn't even realize this was a setting lol

We're very aware of the interference calls. This is my biggest gripe with 24. I'm optimistic this will be addressed in future games. We'll have to wait and see.
Yes, once in a while it seems icing isn't called. We're aware of this. The same goes for the occasional goal being allowed when it appears there was interference. I'm not sure what you mean by goalie infractions resulting in no goals. It would be good to get video of that.
Again, all the video shows is that there might be an issue with these players in this particular situation. The idea that this means slower players are faster is absolutely not correct. Again, if that were the case, everyone would use slower players on purpose. As you can see just by playing, that's not the case.
Just chiming in on the general topic of speed. I don't think everyone understands the difference between speed and quickness. The speed attribute is just your maximum potential speed, but players with higher agility and acceleration absolutely can and will beat higher speed players to pucks and in races, especially now that puck carriers speed was bumped up a bit.
