Video proof
Here's an example os superstar ignoring the ratings of the players. Guy with the puck is a Silver Ovr72. Guy chasing is a 99.

Mega. I am i agreement with you. Have had same issues with a 99 player on my team racing in from the blue line, and an 84 catches up to him. It just seems whenever you post an issue on this open forum. You are doubted, and asked to provide video. And when you do. Its still challenged. Can't win brother.

Welcome to the world of discussion. We're allowed to have a back and forth. It's okay to doubt people. It's okay to challenge opinions. OP literally did win in this thread lol
edit: and when I say OP won this thread, I mean they proved me wrong and potentially provided some great footage that could be a legit issue. That’s fantastic.

That's because if there is an issue, it's most likely with Niedermeyer and not every 99. If it were with every 99, or in every instance of a faster skater being slower, the myriad of videos we've gotten of this over the last several years would have already shown it. I always said we needed one video showing where there could be a legitimate issue and that never happened until now. Previously, it was easy to tell the in-game mechanics were working as intended. I'm stating how the mechanics work and what is contributing time the difference in speed in this clip. I'm not saying there is no issue here. Which is why it's being investigated.

I have all kinds of video over the last several months, not just 99s. I only now figured out how to post one (I'm an old man). The thing you need to realize is that it's not all the time. A large percentage of the time everything is ok. But it seems like from time to time, the CPU likes to kick into god mode just to keep it interesting. Most times I'll blow by a 70 defender with the puck, but other times if the game is close I can't seem to shake him. So it's not just Neidermayer or 99s. It's the CPU in general. And on the flip side, sometimes the CPU with a 99 squad just sucks. So take it how you want. But it's been happening all year. I play ALOT of squad battles.
You're welcome to post those videos. I'll make sure they get reported to the team.
Ok here is what I see,
Before the RED line, the players GAP closes quickly,
After the RED line the defensive player looks like he is in muddy water and his skates are not sharp
After the BLUe you can see in his strides they stop having momentum for the players as if the skates have no effect on the players momentum or speed
The GAP does not close,
So yes this is a great video showing the muddy water
Here is the clip edited, you can see as soon as the player hits the BLUE, the defensive player cannot make any progress on the differential gap between the 2 players

The only thing I noticed is as the players approach the net, both of Neidermayer's hands are gripping the stick, indicating hustle was no longer being used before they reached the hash marks:

Is it possible the player controlling Neidermayer is incorrectly using hustle? Clicking repeatedly rather than click & hold?
I was using hustle incorrectly and also falling victim to scenarios similar to this, although not quite as egregious.
