Why are the Atlanta Thrashers logos, jerseys and NHL alumni teams still missing?

I have waited years to be able to do the custom team in order to put the Atlanta Thrashers back in the NHL. I know they are coming back for real. I am a former season ticket holder and a friend that was in one of the potential ownership groups told me recently the NHL has already agreed. Expect an Atlanta expansion team announcement probably June 2024. That person also said the NHL holds the Thrashers logo/name rights and will give them to the new ownership as part of the expansion fee.

But until then I still can't even put them in the game properly. Why are these things still missing? It is insulting to see other vintage NHL teams have their jerseys, logos, NHL alumni teams and the Thrashers have been literally wiped from existence in the game. Even the full career stats for players that played for the Thrashers have "N/A" for team. It is frankly insulting.

So why are these things still missing? When will they be added back?

    Hi there, @Sothron

We don't have the licensing for the Thrashers. If that changes in the future, we'll make an announcement. Thanks!

The NHL owns the rights to the Thrashers logo not the defunct A$G. I don't understand why the NHL wouldn't allow the logo to be included in the only NHL game made now.

Probably not the NHL that owns the right, could be the old owners of the thrashers.

NHL holds the rights. The Gladiators ECHL team had a Thrashers night last season. They had to get permission from the league first to get access to the intellectual property rights to the Thrashers for that one game. The info is included in an ESPN article from 11/7/22.
