@wiiiiiickedOmg get over this awful take. You know the NHL license isn't exclusive to EA right? Any of these companies can acquire the NHL license to use if they want. You know the license costs like around 4mil per year. There is no way they could afford to go after 3 to 5yrs. And if they went to something like this offline modes would end up getting zero attention because they would need to focus on the modes that generate them consistent money. You don't see NBA2K, MLB The Show, Fifa, Madden or any of them switching anytime because the cost of licenses ain't cheap.

So feel free to go ask 2K to get back in the hockey video game business.  Or ask the Tape 2 Tape people to create a more realistic hockey game using the NHL license.
