I can appreciate that it is not financially optional to develop a game once every 3 to 5 years, that isn't practical. However, I do think the way you approached answering this problem was a little uncalled for. EA are the only company actively making hockey games and there is a fan base that feels alienated not being able to play it because they do not have a console. Being forced to resort to emulators with older games that are glitchy and lack performance.
I understand it must be frustrating to answer the same old questions regarding this argument but what else do you expect? There are fans like me who want to play a hockey game and are not willing to invest hundreds of pounds or dollars into a console just to play one game. This game would be fantastic on computer, as a Port or even via game pass or EA play. It doesn't make sense to say NHL doesn't have a market for computer when almost all the other EA games are on pc. Of course, it wouldn't compete with Fifa or Madden but I bet it will do better than the golf games.
I know at this point I'm only preaching to the choir as this argument has been made ever since NHL 09 but it is a huge shame not being able to experience NHL24 or any of the ones previous to that. As a huge fan of hockey, it hurts. I hope you can appreciate that.
Kind regards.
I absolutely understand your sentiment on this. It's very unfortunate that we have a community of unhappy PC players. I'd love to see you all be able to play our game without the need for a console. Hopefully, we'll see cloud gaming be an option in the future.
Don't underestimate the PC gold crowd. Golf is a huge, worldwide sport. Also, I'm assuming there are some big technical differences with online play between our PGA and NHL games. Not to mention the hardware needed to play these games. Besides that, we also have to consider support for a PC version. It's a very costly endeavor that needs a larger playerbase to support.
Thanks for the very constructive feedback. I can't tell you how much that's appreciated.

I accept I was naive to rule out golf like that. I don't follow it so therefore I really shouldn't say whether or not it would do better compared to other sports but I do believe Hockey would be a good contender as it is growing in Eastern, Northern Europe and already has a big following in North America, as you know.
However, I appreciate your reply and your understanding on how frustrating this is for PC players. I certainly hope there is an option for us in the not so distant, preferably, future.
Kind regards.

This isn't going to be very popular to say but the entitlement in this thread is through the roof. If EA doesn't want to make a game, they simply do not have to no matter how profitable it could or couldn't be. None of us have any numbers or analytics that EA has done to make their determination yet people want to see that. They don't tell people where the money goes from packs bought and whatever else and again, they don't have to. That's their right.
The market is wide open on PC for an NHL game yet no one is making one but everyone is on here saying that they would make money doing it like EA haven't looked into this. It's kind of funny, people say (myself included) that EA is all about money and how much they can make but no one here can understand that they don't think they will make money. EA is an evil all greed company yet they won't make something that everyone believes will make money but now EA is evil because thwy won't do something that will make loads of money like people are claiming. Just simply doesn't make any sense at all.
I'm not defending EA at all, I've never been a big fan of how they operate but these arguments every year are always the same.

I know we have the perception of being greedy. You also have to look at the cost of developing and supporting games that have very large communities. Without modes like Ultimate Team, chances are good we wouldn't have the advances that have been made over the years. I know many of you would be happy just having NHL 14 on repeat, but that's really not what we're going for. The idea is to keep advancing the game by improving on what we have and making new additions to try to satisfy the desire for a new game every year. Ultimate Team has helped with that. The more the game makes, the more we have to keep putting back in to it.
Which brings us back to one of the big reasons there is no PC version. I'm not going to begin to assume that sales plus microtransactions of NHL on PC would alone cover the cost of porting the game and supporting it. That's definitely not something I'm involved in. You make good points though that if there were the PC hockey market people are thinking, most likely another company would have jumped on that. AAA PC games are a big undertaking and tremendous to support. Which is why I'm really hoping that cloud gaming will become a viable option for future NHL games.
