It happens after any trade, no matter who is traded. Again, this has been an issue since the 2020 version. I tried bringing it up before, previous years, but nothing ever happens. Once the trade is made in offline season mode, you cant play that season anymore. It becomes a corrupt file and just crashes.

Ea, you had me fooled. I was able to make a trade yesterday in offline season mode and the game did not crash. Well.......today I did a trade and guess what!??? My season is corrupt and I cant play it anymore!!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.....FIX THIS ISSUE!! ITS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE NHL 20.
