So NHL 24 is different than FC 24? Both being EA, I assumed they would be the same.

As far as I know, this is how it works with FC 24. However, I also am not as familiar with that game so it's possible your progress carries over between both versions. If you play the PS4 version of NHL 24 on PS5, it will carry over that progress to a PS4 since it's actually the PS4 version you're playing.
